I’ll admit it seems a little silly to write about fashion or fall outfits in this very stressful time BUT I am a big believer on having a positive mindset. Working from home is not new for me (I’ve been doing it now for three years now) but for some of you this is new territory. I know we all joke about loving yoga pants but do you really feel motivated or productive if you wear yoga pants and t-shirts every day?
I get a lot of outfit ideas from Instagram and style bloggers in the 40 and up age range. Today I’m going to share a few of my favorite over 40 style influencers .
Get Your Pretty On
One of my favorite influencers to follow is Alison Lumbartis from Get Your Pretty On. She sells capsule wardrobe guides every season and I’m loving her fall guide. You can buy it here for $29 and you’ll get tons of outfit ideas and advice on what staple pieces to add to your closet. I also admire her as a women entrepreneur.
There’s also a fun community online of all ages – search for #gypostylechallenge on Instagram to see what I mean!
Click here for more info about purchasing the fall capsule wardrobe guide (my affiliate link):

You’ll receive a 25 piece shopping list of on trend fall essentials with links to shop recommended items. You’ll also get access to 20 days of mix and match outfit ideas immediately plus 5 bonus outfits perfect for casual Fridays! (basically like every day for me working from home) She also has a lot of free resources on her website.
Maybe it seems silly to promote fashion and feeling good BUT getting dressed in fun outfits when I work from home 24/7 is a mood lifter for me and I think we need all the simple joys we can get lately.
Here are some more influencers I enjoy following for outfit inspiration:
Jo-Lynne Shane – Everyday Style for the Modern Woman
I met Jo-Lynne years ago through blogging and was lucky enough to hang out with her at a few events, including a CABI launch event here in Nashville at Gaylord Opryland Resort. So fun! Jo-Lynne always posts great outfit ideas on Instagram.
Cyndi Spivey
Cyndi is from Kentucky (near my neck of the woods) and does a lot of collaborative style posts with Jo-Lynne. She’s got a great classic sense of style. Follow her on Instagram for inspiration.
Mary Byrd
I met Mary at a fashion panel event in Houston a few years ago. She has a bold, fun sense of style! Follow her on Instagram.
Audrey McClelland
I’ve been following Audrey for many years! I met her at one of the first blog events sponsored by Johnson & Johnson way back in 2006 I believe. Any way, Audrey has a great Fashion Deals: Daily Dose of Style private Facebook group. I also recommend following her on Instagram.
Pam Over 50 Feeling 40
I met Pam years ago during the same Houston fashion panel event hosted by a large department store chain seeking feedback from women who love to post about fashion. Pam has been blogging since 2010 as an over 40 style influencer. Follow her on Instagram.
Rhoda at Southern Hospitality
Rhoda is actually a home decor blogger but she posts #fashionafter50 ideas frequently. She’s based in Georgia and I love her beautiful home! Follow her on Instagram.
Sheaffer Told Me To
Sheaffer is a shopping force. I mean she’s like a professional shopper. Seriously it can be a little overwhelming looking at her many fashion hauls (can one person truly shop this much), but she does list a lot of great sales. Follow her blog or on Instagram.
Do you have any favorite bloggers you follow for fashion ideas?
And my favorite frugal sources for fashion lately are ThredUp, J Crew Factory Outlet, Goodwill and Walmart. (yes, really) I have been shopping online this year 99 percent of the time and there are some great deals to be found! I also love using the Rakuten app on my computer, which adds up to cash back.
