When you’re shopping this holiday season you may be looking for a gift that gives back to a community in need. Here are some of my favorite accessory gifts that will also help lift someone up out of a situation of perhaps homelessness and poverty. After all, isn’t that the true spirit of giving?

The FASHIONABLE mission is to create sustainable business so that the people are not dependents on charity but a vital part of a developing economy. Dainty Classic Necklace from The Giving Keys – $43
Modern minimalism at its finest. The Dainty Necklace is a smaller version of The Giving Keys classic necklace with a delicate chain for a softer, dare we say daintier, look. For an additional $5 you can add a custom word. This Los Angeles based company was started by a Nashville native and helps those transitioning out of homelessness.
Tennessee BRANDED Collective Signature BRANDED Cuff – $25
End Slavery Tennessee works locally to end human trafficking and slavery and heal survivors. The BRANDED Collective employs these survivors to create jewelry that brings awareness to trafficking in Tennessee. Additionally, 25% of the profits from all BRANDED Collective items are given to the rescue and restoration of survivors. Each piece of jewelry features a number that represents one of the millions being trafficked. The hand sanded and stamped Signature BRANDED Cuff is just $25.
SOKO stamped cuff – $45
If you’re looking for a beautiful piece of statement jewelry that empowers women entrepreneurs in Africa, this is a great gift for the super mom or woman in your life. This lovely understated cuff features your initials as well as the initials of the woman who made it. SOKO also offers free shipping on ALL orders which is equally as awesome. You Can Sit With Us Bar – $19
KEEP Collective will donate 20% of the purchase price the You Can Sit With Us Bar (which also comes in silver) to Kind Campaign. Kind Campaign is internationally recognized non-profit organization that brings awareness and healing to the negative and lasting effects of girl-against-girl bullying through their global movement, documentary film, in-school assemblies, and educational curriculum. This understated slide-on bar looks great on a simple leather band from KEEP Collective which I am proud to represent as a designer! KEEP Collective is a Stella & Dot company.
Perfect Earrings from Made By Survivors – $28
Made By Survivors is an international nonprofit empowering women to rise above poverty and fight sex slavery and human trafficking. Striking and modern brass and copper earrings on sterling silver ear wires, 1.2″ exclusive of ear wires. Each of these earrings will be slightly different because of the oxidization of the copper and celebrate the uniqueness of all of us.
Holiday Pashmina Cashmere Scarf from Bloom and Give – $180
This classic plaid holiday scarf is hand-spun and hand-made using the finest and softest pashmina wool from Kashmir. The threads are separately hand-dyed in different colors, and hand-woven in a loom in the state of Kashmir by families that have been practicing the craft for generations. This scarf is made in small batches by a women-owned co-operative. Half the profits from the purchase helps send a girl to school in India.
Pura Vida Bracelets – Starting at $5
Every purchase from Pura Vida helps artisans in Costa Rica and you can choose from a wide array of themes, such as Breast Cancer Awareness. These look great stacked with other bracelets and make great stocking stuffers.
