Basic Invite Custom Stationery Review (Not Too Early To Think about Holiday Cards!)

I have always loved pretty stationery and notecards. My mom instilled in me the importance of hand writing thank you notes and I’ve tried (emphasis on tried) to reinforce that good etiquette with my girls. I’m no Emily Post, but I do appreciate the art of beautiful notes and invitations.

I’ve partnered with Basic Invite to review their beautiful line of custom invitations and announcements and holiday cards. Nope, it’s not too early to be thinking about Christmas cards people! I’m notoriously a slacker when it comes to ordering my Christmas cards, however I do know people who order them early in fall. Most orders placed with Basic Invite arrive in five business days and most orders also come with free white peel and stick envelopes (no licking fatigue!) No one wants to sit and lick a hundred holiday card envelopes. You need to save all that energy for shopping!

I had fun perusing all the beautiful Basic Invite products, such as baby announcements and baby shower invitations. Look how sweet these are! Almost makes me want to have a baby..well, not really. YOU can have another baby and send me one of these gorgeous announcements!

Basic Invite also offers great first birthday party invitations, graduation announcements for all you fellow high school parents like me and Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah invites.

These are a couple of my favorite hand-lettered inspired design graduation announcements. It won’t be long before we’ll be shopping for these! I love these styles that are photo centric with personalized text about the graduate.

Some other distinctions that make Basic Invite really stand out from other online stationery companies:

Almost Unlimited Colors – Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. I LOVE this feature. There have been many times I’ve selected the “perfect” photo for our annual Christmas card but I have had trouble finding a card I love that coordinates with the photo and I don’t have the option to change the colors in the card design. With Basic Invite’s website, once you select a design you can change the color of each element on the card to over 160 different color options. You can’t get much more custom than that! This is what they feel like sets them apart from almost any other online stationery company.

Custom Samples – Basic Invite is one of the few websites that will allows customers the ability to order a printed sample of their actual invitation so they can see exactly how it will print as well as the paper quality before they ever have to place an order for 500 invitations.

Over 40 Different Colors of Envelopes – Most online stationery and invite stores offer plain white envelopes. Basic Invite customers can choose from over 40 different colors when it comes to their envelopes so that they can make their invitation stand out even before it is opened.  All their envelopes are also peel and seal so the envelopes can be quickly and securely closed without having to lick each one.t

I had fun selecting my samples. Check them out! There are a lot of text only designs to select from, as well as designs that allow you to add your own photo. I love the custom photo thank you cards, especially for teenagers. I made this card using a spring formal photo of my daughter.

Here’s a custom Christmas card I made, which is text only but has a lovely design. The quality of the card stock is great.

I also ordered a few plain thank you cards. You can never have enough note cards!
