Heads Up Nashville Entrepreneurs: The UPS Store Hosts Small Biz Salute May 12

UPS Small Business CelebrationI’m married to a small business owner and entrepreneur and many of my colleagues in Femfessionals own businesses o I am a huge advocate of doing business with fellow small business owners. Did you know that May is National Small Business Month? To celebrate, The UPS Store is launching #SmallBizSalute with events held across the country.  As an extension of The UPS Store’s commitment to the small business community, the Small Biz Salute campaign rewards entrepreneurs for their hard work and gives them an opportunity to network and support each other, through special events and celebrations that bring small business owners together.

Dave Delaney of Futureforth will kick off the festivities here in Nashville at Avenue at 120 3rd Ave. S 37201 from 6 to 8 p.m. May 12. Drinks and appetizers will be served and attendees will have the opportunity to apply for a chance to participate in The UPS Store pitch competition where the winner will receive $5,000!  In an effort to facilitate the link between small business owners, The UPS Store is launching the month-long campaign to give entrepreneurs in several of the nation’s top small business cities – Minneapolis, Nashville, Phoenix and Houston – special opportunities to connect and network with other entrepreneurs in their communities and gain valuable advice from small business experts.

Several local businesses will be selected to pitch a business concept to a local panel of judges. The  competition will give contestants 3 minutes to pitch their business to a live audience and panel of judges and explain how an investment can help grow their business.
