Is Thanksgiving really just around the corner? I’m loving jeans and boots weather here in Nashville. No matter what your weather is like in your neck of the woods, fall is here.
If you’re like me (a busy working mom now with a TEENAGER Lord help me), then you don’t really have time or money for that matter to shop (because you end up spending all your cash on your kids.) Look for ideas on Pinterest, the new arrivals section of your favorite stores online, and Instagram for trends you can add to your wardrobe. A great way to add some inexpensive fun to your mom wardrobe is to…and yes I can’t believe I’m saying this…look at what your teenager is wearing. You can find a lot of trendy costume jewelry and accessories online at stores meant for teens and 20-somethings, such as Aeropostale.
Without further ado, here are some fall fashion must haves for your closet that I’ve spied all over town, and the Internet!
A Blanket Scarf: Infinity scarves are still around, but enter the blanket scarf, a cozier preppier version, especially in a tartan plaid. Love this one on Amazon for less than $10 PLUS free shipping!
The Bootie: Short boots are in this fall and I love the wedge heel featured on this pair from Steve Madden…super comfy!
A Vest for Layering: Whether you get a more streamlined classic tweed vest, a puffer vest, or an equestrian vest such as this one from Humble Chic which I have and LOVE, vests are great for cool fall days when you don’t need a coat, but you need outerwear to cut the chill. Need some more outfit ideas for vests? Check out my blog post here.
A Layered Necklace: This is a great layered all-in-one look with one piece of jewelry that is really hot right now. If you want to add a little Boho look to your outfit, this is a great subtle way to do it. This layered necklace is one of the cutest I’ve seen and is just $9.98! Fringe and tassels are also really in right now, so I love the gold tassel! This layered gem stone necklace is also gorgeous.
A Foldover Clutch Bag: I always like to add a new handbag every fall and winter. The clutch bag is really in right now and animal print is always a fave! I love this bag, plus it comes in a gorgeous green solid shade if you’re not feeling the animal print groove.
Faux fur: Faux fur is still fun and fashionable. I absolutely fell in love with this trunk show line vest from Etcetera, which is new to Nashville, when I met the designer consultant at a networking luncheon. This is in the pricey range, but definitely an investment and the knit sweater side panels are slimming, ensuring you don’t channel your inner Yeti. Check out Etcetera online (shown by appointment only.)
What’s your favorite look? It’s Fashion Friday! I’m linking up with many other fashion loving moms, such as Mommies With Style.
