It’s officially backyard grilling season ya’ll and I am thrilled! There’s nothing better than cooking dinner outside and that grilled food taste and aroma that just screams summer. Summer is that time I will always choose dinner cooked on the grill, rather than the stovetop or oven. In the past month alone we’ve grilled burgers, brats, kabobs and more!
If you love to grill and you love great food (and who doesn’t), I’ve got a fun event to tell you about. What are you doing this Saturday Middle Tennessee foodie friends and fellow grill enthusiasts? Don’t miss Macy’s Sizzle Showdown at 1 p.m. as six finalists compete for the chance to be crowned the Greatest Grilling Guru by Macy’s Culinary Council Chefs Michelle Bernstein and Stephanie Izard. These premiere pitmasters will turn up the heat and compete for a grand prize of $10,000 and a trip to the 2016 Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks show in New York City. Not only will you get to watch the cooking competition at the Macy’s Grilling Guru event, but there will be a ton of amazing food to try!
While you’re at the event, which will be held just outside Macy’s at Cool Springs Galleria in the parking lot, you can head into the store to check out the latest cookware and gadgets for your kitchen and grilling needs. Plus, with any purchase of $50 or more in the Home Department, you’ll receive a $10 Macy’s gift card, special grilling gifts like a yummy grilling rub, and an opportunity to meet Chefs Bernstein and Izard, members of the Macy’s Culinary Council along with some other amazing chefs such as Rick Bayless and Cat Cora. The first 100 people to arrive at the event will receive a FREE selfie stick so you can snap some pics of your getting your grill on this summer. Seating is limited and on a first come first serve basis so be sure to arrive 30-60 minutes before the 1 p.m. start time.
