Nashville Style Blogging Scene: Fall Trends in Fashion at Opry Mills

Last night I attended my second Opry Mills fashion blogger night hosted by the fabulous Milton White, a Nashville fashion (and beyond) scene icon.

It’s always fun meeting new bloggers and Nashville has an amazing fashion blogger network. Heck Nashville has an amazing BLOGGER network that encompasses so many niches. Now while I’m not a full-time fashion blogger, I am a blogger and I love fashion. I’m also a firm believer that moms over 40 can be both fashionable and stay within budget!

Here are three overall fall trends in fashion that I took note of:

Can you tell which one of these trends has its roots right here in Nashville? I also noticed a lot of embellishment still (think boots and bags with bling), wedge boots, and subtle touches of animal print. There was also this fantastic Free People buffalo plaid type coat that had an awesome Mad Men retro feel and incredible gold buttons.

Fall Fashion Brandi Cyrus

That lovely long-legged blogger to the right who chose the coat for her fashion challenge is none other than Brandi Cyrus. I actually realized that when I got home last night and looking through Instagram pics. She’s older sis to Miley and a well-known fashion blogger.

Brandi participated in a fun 60-second styling challenge in which three bloggers’ names were pulled from a hat to participate. They had, you guessed it, a minute to put together a look from the evening’s fashion trends rack based on a theme such as Girls’ Night Out or Dinner and a Movie.

As you can see from my outfit last night, I am embracing the color trend! These can’t miss me yellow jeans are from the Banana Republic outlet store at Opry Mills and I bought them a few months ago for a whopping $12….my kind of price point people.

Here are more pics from last night which featured styles from Opry Mills‘ stores. I always hit Banana Republic, but I loved some of the trends from Off 5th, White House Black Market (where a rich burgundy is the color of the season), and Coach.

Awwww thanks! They are fun and I almost didn’t buy them because they are a tad out of my usual fashion zone! 🙂
