Like many of you, I’m sure, I’m trying to start the new year off with some positive changes. I’ve been very hit or miss with our budgeting but cleaning out our bathroom cabinets and my makeup bag last weekend made me realize that I am pretty good at finding great beauty deals. You don’t have to spend a ton of money on many daily products, from mascara to conditioner. Now don’t get me wrong, there are certain products I will spend more money on (such as a great hair conditioner), but there is no reason to blow your budget for beauty!

Here are some of my favorite recent (as well as long time) dollar store and drug store beauty and makeup deals. Most of these can be found at your corner drug store, grocery, or even dollar store. Everything here costs less than $12. Now THAT is budget friendly!

Cover Girl Last Blast Volume Mascara – My makeup is not complete without mascara and I love this line from Cover Girl!

Wet ‘N Wild Mega Liner – I just started wearing liquid eyeliner in the last few years. I’ve tried more expensive brands but this line from Wet ‘N Wild is very inexpensive and it’s good stuff! I’ve noticed it takes a little longer to dry and set but it’s a great product. I bought mine at my local Walgreens.

Got 2b Glossy Anti-Frizz Shine Serum– This hair shine serum just takes a tiny amount to work. It helps tame the winter fly aways and adds sheen to my hair.

Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream – My hands get really dry in the winter. Burt’s Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream is great for applying at bedtime.

Neutogrena Healthy Skin Eye Cream – I started using this right before I turned 30. It’s a great beginning eye cream product. Now that I’m 44 I use something more heavy duty (like Oil of Olay Regenerist), but if you’re just starting to use eye cream and not yet in your 40s, this is a great product. I definitely advocate anti-aging serums, which are higher priced, but that’s another topic for another post.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser – This is a great lighter coverage concealer. If you have very dark circles under your eyes this might not be enough coverage, but I love the sponge roller applicator and the lighter consistency of this concealer means it won’t cake up and accentuate lines around your eyes.

Daily Defense Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner – I just discovered this line at DOLLAR TREE ya’ll. The shampoo is seriously good stuff and I’m about to try the conditioner. I’m a sucker for argan oil products, being a girl of overprocessed hair, and this is really a great product. Most cheap hair care products are just that, cheap. This stuff works very well.

Eucerin Intensive Repair Extra-Enriching Hand Cream – Absorbs quickly and is ideal for winter. This gets TONS of amazing reviews on Amazon, too.

What would you add to the list?

I love reading blogs from other people around the state, and around the world. I am a mom so I seem to have more time on my hands than I need, so I spend allot of it online.

I am diabetic, so I like to check out recipes and alternative foods; blogging, SEO, and engineering updates. I do a little SEO work on the side and have been writing non-professionally since 2009.

Thanks for sharing, I have a blog of my own and I wonder sometimes if people really read it or not 🙂 Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or want to pick my brains about something. I am always up for a good conversation!
