When I was in Nairobi and the Kibera Slum with Every Girl Counts, I met mothers raising their children in dire circumstances, struggling to make ends meet in conditions I will only brush off as a few minutes of experience. They would do anything for their children. They only want what’s best for them.
There are so many things we complain of in our hectic lives. Our stress is due to an abundance of convenience. We are lucky to have the “problems” we have.
My Mother’s Day wish is that we all step back and think about how we can step forward to help the mothers in this world who need so little, gain so much.
Happy Mother’s Day!
