Wishing My Photo Outtakes Were This Darn Cute

Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous so we headed to Warner Park here in Nashville for a quick picnic and then I began operation Quest for the Great Christmas Card Photo.

Inbetween overdramatic declarations of “I DON’T WANT HER THAT CLOSE TO ME” and peace out signs, the hubby snagged a beauty that I converted to black and white, but I want it to be a surprise so you all will just have to wait until December.

After we wrapped up the photos, or, rather, when the girls finally got tired of posing and my requests to smile, say Sponge Bob, and act like they really do love each other, we decided to go geocaching.

What’s that, you say?

Head on over to TravelingMom.com for my regular Monday post as the Nashville TravelingMom. If a blonde with no sense of direction and an extremely limited sense of Grizzly Adams can geocache with her family, so CAN YOU. Just wear cute hiking boots and jeans and watch out for poison ivy.

I’m always making Little Man say something other than “cheeeeeeese” for photos in the hopes of getting a real smile. I’m not proud. If he said “booger” or “butthead” but I get a good photo out of it, it’s totally worth it. Maybe I’ll try “Sponge Bob” next time.

  2. Jamie says:

I suppose it was the gorgeous weather and time of year AND location but we saw three professional photographers out shooting family portraits in the same park yesterday. I swear I glanced over at one point and one mom was literally jumping up and down and flapping her arms as if she were a giant bird, all in an attempt to get her kids to smile. The THINGS we’ll do for a smile. 😉

  3. Jennifer says:

Wow, they look so much alike in that photo. I hadn’t noticed it before. And that is one beautiful photo. I can only imagine what the “good” one looks like.

  4. Joy says:

Getting that perfect Christmas card photo is so hard! I think I may cheat this year and go back through the photos I have taken from earlier in the year:) By the way that is a cute pic!

  5. Blonde Mom says:

Jennifer, they are looking more and more alike each year.

Joy, I have done that many a time! 🙂

  6. Benny says:

I’m so glad your family likes geocaching! We love it! It’s such a great reason to get outside, visit new areas (parks, paths) and spend time together!

  7. Judith says:

My grandkids love geocashing. Obviously I never had it when I was a kid and neither did my kids. So this is a new adventure for me. It;s a opportunity to be together and visit the country. I live in AZ but we have traveled to NM, Ca, Utah NV and on a trip to other grandma geocached in Co. I scout out what we can do in 24 hrs, give the options to the 6 yr old who picks, and because of his age is a blind pick and off we go. But he is getting too smart he is learning coordinates. We will have to go to a hat draw.

Wow, they’re getting SO big! Love the picture share. Speaking of pictures, I thought of you yesterday when I knew my blog held the answer to the Christmas Card photo service I’d used a few years ago…sure ’nuff a quick search on Christmas Cards and wham there it – and reference to you – were! I love blogging, sharing – oh and blogging. 😀
