Lady Gah Gah

Don’t call my name, Alejandro, even though I’m wearing dead cow. I’ll be crying later when this little number starts to stink up my limo.

Last weekend at soccer we were sitting at a picnic table with some of Miss C’s teammates, waiting for team photos to be taken. One of the moms had the latest People magazine. Her son, who is 5 or 6ish, sat down beside her and started flipping through the magazine. “You have GOT to see Lady Gaga in her MEAT DRESS!” he said excitedly, planting his index finger squarely on a full color photo of Lady Gaga wearing what looked to be giant slabs of bacon.

Nice.

My girls love Lady Gaga’s music. Miss A has actually choreographed a dance number to Telephone that is pretty darn impressive. They practically climbed over me and over the table to see Lady Gaga wearing her raw meat gown at the recent VMAs. Talk about making a fashion statement.

A couple of days later I was driving us home when we heard a radio commercial for the upcoming Lady Gaga concert in downtown Nashville. (Confession to hubby: Yes we were listening to that top 40 radio station that you hate.)

Miss C chimed in from the back seat, “I am NOT going to see Lady Gaga. I will listen to her music, but I do not want to see her. She is too weird.”

p.s. So I’ll admit I would actually go see Lady Gaga in concert, but only if I won the tickets or, you know, someone gave them to me.

I recently had an ACK! moment. I helped a friend throw a bday party for her two daughters who were turning 6 & 7. (They were born 11 months & 1 week apart God bless her!) I was STUNNED at the “shows” the girls were putting together – the seductive dancing while singing Bad Romance for example. It made me glad I have boys!

She’s actually pretty normal-looking when she’s not wearing meat…or a giant bow made of hair….or black mesh mask…oh hell, okay, so she’s NOT normal-looking at all.

But seeing her in concert would be cool…sort of like seeing a mutant chimpanzee baby eating a bologna sandwich with its giant feethands. Something to see once….but you may regret having seen it later.

I love Lady Gaga. Initially I listened to her in secret, but I outed myself recently to my friends, when we all admitted we liked her music. We also admitted our cougarish crush on Rob Pattinson.

What I like about her as a person is that she writes her music herself, and is the architect of her image.

I also like that she takes a stand on issues that she agrees with. I was impressed that she took 3 discharged military officers as her “date” to the vma awards. These officers were discharged due to violations of the don’t ask, don’t tell policy.

Good for her that she doesn’t party and get DUI’s and drug arrests like other stars her age, such as Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and the like. Or home made pornography, like Paris, Kim K. And Montana Fishburne (sad that people do this for publicity).

She’s famous for her achievements, not for being a “socialite”.

I like her music well enough, but can’t stand the theatrics. Clearly though, she knows what she’s doing. She’s a great businesswoman because it’s working.

The meat dress was just gross and ridiculous.

She’s weird…I just can’t love her, I tried. Great marketing though.

I think Lady Gaga has a fabulous voice! As for her meat dress…eh. Her creative mind certainly leaves me scratching my head, but she is most definitely an artist!

I’m not sure who dresses more outlandish in public. Lady gaga or Katy Perry. Has anyone seen the shirt Katy Perry was wearing on SNL this weekend?

Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this blog. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s tough to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appearance. I must say you have done a excellent job with this. Also, the blog loads super quick for me on Chrome. Superb Blog!
