New York, New York

Toto, we’re not in Nashville any more.

Saturday night in bustling Times Square!

Me and my fabulous roomie, Amy Allen Clark, in front of the Royalton Hotel where I felt like I was stepping on to a Sex and the City set each time I entered the lobby, except for the fact that I was typically wearing my $12.99 sandals from Target.

An incredible Jimmy Hendrix performer near Times Square.

A few more of my favorite Big Apple things…

seeing THE Martha Stewart up close and personal at the Martha Stewart Bloggers’ Night Out, as well as Alexis Stewart, with Jessica Turner from Nashville; saying hello to Design Mom at the Martha event; coffee and tea with my niece; lunch with a co-worker at The Modern at MoMA; sweet manna from heaven cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery; the Wine in the City reception and dinner at The Capital Grille and sharing that experience with two members of the Kendall Jackson family; hugging friends like Colleen and Jo Lynne and Liz and Melissa; making new friends like Carolina Mama, Mommy Drives, Savvy Auntie, Debra from A Frugal Friend, and Erika Lehmann; a front row vantage point during the Gavin DeGraw performance at the Schick Intuitions party; getting my makeup professionally done at the elf cosmetics office during the Glam Games Xbox party; getting a quick hair makeover by a stylist who has styled Madonna’s hair; lunch al fresco with Amy at Bryant Park; brunch at the American Girl store cafe with Bridgette from Experimental Mommy, Bongga Mom, Mommy Mandy, Kristin from Our Ordinary Life

and I could go on and on. I met SO many people in New York during BlogHer weekend and had an amazing time.

More photos from my New York City trip on Flickr as I find time to upload them.

(I’m kind of tired, I’m back at work today, AND school starts with a half day Thursday.)

Officially I was not attending BlogHer (sold out and no sponsor for full pass ticket) but there were SO many related events going on, it was amazing. Of course I could spend a month in New York and still not see everything.

    Had an incredible time!

Oh and I ran into Carrie Ferguson Weir from Nashville TWICE…too funny.

I think the way you did it was super smart. You just got to go and hang out and have fun, and to me that would be the most important part. I so have to go next year.

I think socializing is the best part of conferences. Sounds like you had a FAB time. You and Amy look too stinkin’ cute (but you always do).

I haven’t been to New York since I was 17, but I will never forget it! I know it has changed a lot since then, but I will never forget it. Seeing your pictures and reading about it made me realize how much I miss it! I would love to take my daughter one day there and just have a wonderful time! Well, at least I got to relive a little bit through you post. Thanks!
