We love to eat out as a family but sometimes it’s anything but relaxing, especially on a weeknight when we’re typically navigating multiplication tables, soccer practice, and traffic jams.
Chili’s to the rescue!
We’ve always been big fans of Chili’s for their Tex Mex-tastic food, but our girls also love the variety offered on the Pepper Pals kids’ menu. As a mom, it’s refreshing to see they offer several think outside the french fry box side options, such as fresh pineapple and salad with low-fat ranch dressing.
To start things off, we love to order their Skillet Queso and Southwestern Egg Rolls from the appetizer menu.
Oh and we can’t forget the chips and salsa.
Miss C would eat chips and salsa for breakfast if I let her.

Although it’s a treat for my husband and I to have an impromptu dinner out, with our girls we’ve found it’s best to let them know ahead of time that we’re going out for dinner and to make sure they are not totally exhausted. Trust me, this time of year with school ending and summer gearing up it’s crazy busy.
My girls are 5 and nearly 8, so they’re easily entertained, but when they were toddlers I always made sure I had an arsenal of distractions in my purse, from little snacks such as dry cereal or raisins to tide them over until the server brought out our food to extra crayons and small board books. Chili’s dining out survival guide has fun ideas for games and activities to entertain your school age kids while you wait for your food, from Twenty Questions to I Spy, Chili’s Style to Restaurant Alphabet.
Lucky for my husband, I can be easily entertained with a margarita. Or two.

I really like the atmosphere at Chili’s, and it’s one of the only restaurants that my girls like to eat at (instead of just picking at that food 😉 ). I love Chili’s. And the Southwestern Egg Rolls are AWESOME! I like how on their menu now you can get a half appetizer and smaller entree for a combined price. I think that makes it way easier to get all the good stuff you like. Baby Girl likes the mac and cheese. And I can’t remember taking Bud, but I’m sure we have.

Drinks count, right? They’re on the menu! The frozen strawberry margarita in a sugared glass. Excuse me, I think I just drooled a bit.

What a fun contest…..My husband & I are like 2 peas in a pod when we can have a dinner date at Chili’s & order our favorite, Margarita Grilled Chicken. The black beans are the added bonus with that little spice kick to them YUM!

I can’t play the Chilis game, but just wanted to share that I, to this day, do not leave home to eat out without a bag full of entertainment – pencils, colouring books, cars, stickers, you name it. It seems excessive, but it means that we can enjoy several hours at a dining establishment without too much trouble.

Let’s see….I’ll start with an appetizer…Hot spinach and artichoke dip…then the entree…the crispy shrimp taco with their wonderful coleslaw and tequila lime sauce….moving on to dessert (if i have room) I’ll pick only one tiny sample of key lime pie. Did I forget a beverage??? I would have to be an ice cold beer. I really like that they have many vegetarian items to pick from. One of the few restaurants who give you more selections that just a fish sandwich.

I absolutely LOVE Chilli’s!! I love their frozen strawberry margaritas and turkey sandwhiches — omg, so delicious!
When we used to live in FL they had Happy Hour all day every day at their restaurant and it was so much fun! Once I asked for a to-go cup for my 2nd margarita and the waiter totally put it in a kiddie cup and let me take it home!! I was honestly only joking when I asked so when he really came through I was so shocked, but def took it w/ me. I am not sure if he was just wicked cool or new, but either way I don’t think they’re supposed to do that! Hee hee 🙂

Wen we go to Chili’s I can never get past the Old Timer on their menu. I order it loaded, bacon, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and onions. My children love it too but only with bacon.

We love Chili’s! Nom Nom Nom… We rename all the Pepper People and try to say it with a mouth full of chips because we’re klassy that way…but we love Chili’s.

It’s hard to choose on menu from their item. My mom and I go for lunch and usually end up with different things so we can share. I also love the chips and salsa, would also eat them for breakfast!
