When your mom reads your blog and sees her baby granddaughter posing like a future Sheryl Crow with her hand me down pink plastic electric guitar it’s inevitable that grandma will make a trip to the hometown guitar store happen within 48 hours.
The new acoustic guitar is silver, which apparently is Miss A’s favorite color, or at least that’s what she told my mother. This is news to me as she’s always been a pink or purple girl but I just think she couldn’t go for a red or blue guitar, which were the other options. It still has the handwritten price tag attached and I keep meaning to cut it off but it gives it a kind of Minnie Pearl charm. She also has a black fabric case for it and has been quite serious about zipping it up in the case and taking great care to store her guitar picks in the front zippered compartment.
I thought Miss C might be a tad jealous of her sister’s new prize musical instrument but she seems very much into her own interests–soccer, science, accessorizing, and involuntarily shrieking every time she hears Justin Bieber’s name.
As for the Justin Bieber thing, seriously what is going on WITH THAT? My girls don’t even listen to his music yet there is some sort of mesmerizing force that turns girls under age 8 into shrieking fools every time they hear his name. There’s something suspicious about his hair. I think it’s sending subliminal messages. Yeah, that’s it.
Meanwhile, I’m just waiting for our little rock star to have her own shrieking groupies some day.
That is awesome. I love it. And looks like you better start looking for someone to give her lessons. I’m sure there is a plethora of people where you live. LOL

What a cutie….she seems quite natural with that guitar in her lap. I think the picture of Miss C and your Mom in front of the guitar store is just precious. I think you should frame it. Keep on playing…Miss C.

I have been playing the piano since I was 7. I really enjoy it.
She really rocked that rendition of You Are My Sunshine. Excellent and original interpretation of an old classic! =>

Sorry, can’t comment today – I’m consumed with envy of that cool silver guitar. Do not dare show Mr6, whose Axe is dark blue and nowhere near as exciting. Just you wait for the ‘concerts’ now… a parental rite of passage.

The MVP of Super Bowl XLIV, Drew Brees led the New Orleans Saints to their first Super Bowl in franchise history. and peaked his Football career last season. From then on, Brees wearing the # 9 black drew brees jersey became the hero. Will Brees continue to be the best player in season 2010? We are all looking forward!
Awesome! She’s a natural.

I am currently trying to get my ten year old son to learn guitar, but he doesn’t seem to be very interested. I guess I just have to give up?
