Sisters on the porch.
Miss A finds a winner.
Show off pumpkin.
Callie, my mom’s new country dog fresh from the county pound. Her previous owners had chained her in their yard and abandoned her. She is very thankful to have a new home. Callie is single, enjoys watching deer frolic in the woods, and loves having her ears scratched. She’s being fixed today so she may not have been so happy this weekend if she knew about her upcoming “procedure.”
Candy corn does a body good after spending the afternoon searching for the perfect pumpkin.
The girls ended up each choosing a pumpkin off a country wagon on Saturday to bring home for our front porch back here in the ‘burbs and I chose a bag full of fun mini pumpkins and gourds and Indian corn for our mantle.
Pumpkin pickin’ pictures taken in Cross Plains, Tennessee, at The Pumpkin Patch on Highway 25, just a short drive from the farm I grew up on. I guarantee you if you are from a small town, like me, you can go home and within a half hour see at least three people who’ve known you since you were a kid. And this doesn’t include the obligatory Walmart trip, where you’ll probably see at least one more person.
So have you found your family’s Great Pumpkin yet?
Who needs round pumpkins when you’ve got these two adorable litt’l pumpkins!!f
Hugs

We had pumpkins spring up in our garden this year. I think it’s from the pumpkin guts from 2 years ago (last year we roasted the seeds). We got 3 perfect pumpkins (except then 2 of them rotted on the vine, oops).
We’ll still go to the pumpkin farm, though. This year we’ll get to go to the farm I went to as a kid instead of the one here due to our completely insane October/ November schedule.

You hoped pumpkin picking would be a good photo op. I think it certainly was. These are great! Your girls make me think of my sisters (and that’s a happy thing).

Thanks Rebecca! I “just” have a little ole point and shoot camera but I have two great subjects. I meant to pack a couple of velvet dresses to snap some more formal holiday type shots but forgot them. Oh well…next time!

Jamie, great pictures! I can’t get my three to look in the same direction without bribes or threats!
Still haven’t gotten our pumpkins yet, but did make it to the local fair, where a gentleman from New Hampshire won the Giant Pumpkin contest. Winning pumpkin weight this year? 1,471.6 pounds.

Guillaume. E-mail : filament.35@orange.fr
