Last week for their usual Daddy Summer Thursday Miss C and the hubby hit Cheekwood’s Family Night Out to see an entertaining program led by Janet Ivey of Janet’s Planet fame. Janet makes learning about science fun…so much fun that your kid doesn’t even know they’re learning about science. I stayed home that night with a snifflly Miss A and we watched an Alvin & The Chipmunks DVD. You can guess who got the raw end of the deal that night. I did discover that Alvin’s voice is much more tolerable after a glass of wine.
Janet interviewed Miss C prior to the show and then chose Miss C from the audience to go head to head with a dad in a science smack down which Miss C won. She proudly brought home a box of vanilla MoonPies as the prize.
Janet Ivey of Janet’s Planet interviews Miss C last week at Cheekwood (and no, she didn’t know that Miss C’s mama is one of those “mommy blogger” types.)
Tonight is the last night for Cheekwood’s Family Night Out (held Thursday nights in June and July.) Dennis Scott, a songwriter and performer, will be presenting “Imagine That! – In Search of Songs & Silliness.” Admission for kids age 5 and under is free. Miss C and the hubby got in for $15 total and I guarantee it was worth every penny hearing Miss C talk about the solar system like it was the next best thing since the Jonas Brothers.
Yay Ms C. That’s great, but does that woman have on a…. I’m not sure I can even write it… a jumpsuit. OMG. Please, please, please tell me that outfit is part of her job. I mean, who would voluntairly want to bring back that fashion nightmare.

She does have on a bright blue jumpsuit but it’s all part of her cool Janet’s Planet gig. Although I wonder if I run into her at the grocery store if she’d be wearing it?
But seriously, Miss C had a great time. Thanks again Janet for putting on a great show! And Cheekwood has a lot of excellent family/children programs.
Cool beans!
Hugs,
