Miss A Cheer

Frankly I think Miss A wears my 8th grade cheerleading uniform much cuter than I ever did.

Do you remember your middle school mascot? We were the vikings and our official colors were orange and white, which I’m sure was homage to the University of Tennessee. We were also the little country school that provoked teasing from the bigger schools in our county. We were so small we didn’t have a school cafeteria set up for lunch breaks. We’d go through the line with our plastic trays and then eat back in our classrooms. All that combined with the fact that I had a mouth full of braces and weighed 70 something pounds soaking wet was pretty much an after school special on pre-teen angst just waiting to happen.

Aaah, but do you still have the Vikingette hat,(from 4th grade) you know the one…..painted orange with the white styrofoam viking horns??? I don’t think Mama still has that. At least I hope not! HA!
She looks too cute in that uniform.

Amy I have tried to scourge the memory of the Vikingette hat of humiliation from my memory. 😉 I had forgotten about that!

Didn’t we wear white gloves, too?

I have a picture in a scrapbook. I should scan it.

Do not, I repeat DO NOT EVER get rid of that cheerleading outfit! We can always add it to the Viking “museum” of days gone by, which is a plastic bag in the closet in the gym!!! 🙂

But seriously, since we no longer have grades 6-8, therefore no more teams, you should hang on to this “relic!”
