The winners are Elena Amble, EG, Lynn, Renee G., Deb K., Kat C., Tory Thompson, Rebekah, Leighann, and Suzy Chouinard. I’ll be e-mailing them this weekend. Thanks to everyone who entered and stay tuned for more posts from me (and Lee) throughout the year.
I’m very excited to announce I’ve been asked to work with Lee Jeans this year as a Lee Jeans “Fit Ambassador” blogger. Lee is a brand that is as American as apple pie and reality TV, plus Lee is a big supporter of breast cancer research through its annual Lee National Denim Day. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you know that my mother-in-law is a breast cancer survivor and that I underwent a lumpectomy in the fall of 2007 after a series of tests (and thankfully it was nothing but good ole lumpy, bumpy fibrocystic tissue.)
Buddy Lee and I go way back. In the beginning, however, we didn’t have the greatest relationship. In the 80s during junior high and high school Buddy Lee was, unfortunately, the patron saint of dorky denim. However, shortly after I had Miss A in 2005 I hit TJ Maxx in search of a pair of bootcut, low rise jeans and I found the perfect pair. They also came in petite length, which I definitely need at barely 5 ft. 2. I was pleasantly surprised to find out the sharpest, best fitting pair were made by Lee! No more dark rinse, big a** fugly faux leather tag on the waistband either. These were hip mama jeans, definitely not mom jeans.
Fast forward a few years and I’ll be sharing my thoughts on new Lee products on my blog and hosting occasional giveaways for some of my favorite new Lee products so you can try them, too.
Snapping my pic on my iPhone at work in the ladies restroom, hoping no one walks in one me and wonders what the heck I am doing. Isn’t this strawberry color fun?
The first product I was sent to try was a pair of Lee colorwashed khaki pants in a fun red color called strawberry. They have a touch of lycra in them so they are comfy with a moderate low-rise waist and are perfect for work this spring. You can buy them online at JCPenny.com. These colorwashed khakis come in a straight or boot cut leg as well as a variety of colors, from riviera blue to jade green. They are available in sizes 4-16 (petite, small, medium and long length) and in Lee’s women’s collection sizes 16-26 (medium length).
I like the way Lee jeans and pants fit because they are made for a woman’s shape. This is the kinder gentler way of saying that after having two babies and inching close to 40 years old, there is no way in heck I’ll ever be able to squeeze into a junior’s size 5 jean again. And Buddy Lee? He understands that. Check out the Lee Fit Finder online to help you find the perfect fit. Lee.com also offers free shipping on all orders over $25.
I’m giving away 10 pairs of Lee’s new colorwashed khakis! Simply leave a comment on this post by midnight Wednesday, April 22, telling me if you own a pair of Lee jeans or pants and whether you love ’em or hate ’em. Lee wants to know what you think about their products. I’ll choose 10 winners at random from all eligible comments to each win one pair of colorwash khakis from Lee. For an extra entry, just follow me on Twitter (but do leave an extra comment here telling me you’ve done so.) Thanks and good luck!
