Find out over at MomAdvice.com, a wonderful site run by my Real Girls Media ad network peep and friend, Amy Allen Clark. To sweeten the pot, so to speak, I’m going to hold a random giveaway for a $15 gift card to Cold Stone Creamery for everyone who leaves a comment here and clicks on the blog button below and leaves a comment on one of Amy’s posts about her test drive. I’ll draw a winner’s name Saturday and update the post here.
Just tell me here in the comments about your first car. Mine was a silver Subaru. I was a junior in high school and lived 8 miles from “town,” so my little silver car was my ticket to freedom. Then that car died and my dad leased a Chrysler laser with a sun roof for me, much to my mom’s delight (not) and I thought I was the hottest thing since sliced bread, driving like a bat out of hell down our windy country road and blaring the Beastie Boys, Janet Jackson, and the Cars. Hey, it was 1987.
1972 Mustard Yellow Chevy Nova. It was 10 years old, and the stereo I put in the car was worth more than the car itself!

I had a light green Toyota Tercel that I thought was so wonderful that when I totaled it a year later, I got another one. That one had air conditioner problems (in Florida!)and lost its appeal pretty quickly.

Mm, Cold Stone.
I had a hand-me-down maroon Volvo. Its name was Clarence. I haven’t named any cars since that one.

I can’t post a comment over there! I hit “Post a comment” and nothing happens!
I am not sure what is going on with the comments either. I have Internet Explorer as my current browser and can’t get it to work, either. I’ll try Firefox later today…I’m sure it will work out. It may be a Blogger/Google issue?

Amys last blog post..There will be an update
I just left a comment on Amy’s post.
My first was also a Subaru! It was a 1993 Subaru Impreza in a blue/green. We still have that car. My husband won’t get rid of it because he really like it so it is just around as a spare! It has 135k miles on it.
My first was a black ’96 Honda Civic EX. That thing drove like butter and was the zippiest little car ever. I named him Dennis and had him for 10 years. I cried when I sold him. Oh the memories of high school and college in that car! *sob*

My first car that was “mine” was a Dodge 600. I got it at the end of my freshman year in college. It had a bench seat up front, so my two best friends and I would all sit up front, crank the radio and sing at the top of our lungs! Unfortunately, I totaled it a year later. But that car saw lots of fun times!
