Come On Over and See Me Sometime

Can’t get enough of me and my exciting rock star mommy needs a pedicure existence? I am guest blogging for one of my wonderful readers, Richie Anne, while she is on maternity leave. Richie Anne just had a beautiful baby boy named Jonas and is one of the Haute Mamas working at the Colorado Grand Junction. I was a journalism major so I have a soft spot for reporter mamas!

Today I wrote about the wide array of parent types I’ve encountered during kindergarten rush, from Is She or Isn’t She a Porn Star Mama to Rah Rah Rah PTO Parent to Somebody Needs a Time Out Parent .

What type of parent do you relate to? I’m finding that kindergarten is bringing out my mad project management skills.

p.s. I also have a new article up at Divine Caroline, a great new women’s website. I was honored to be asked to provide feedback on the site during the developmental stages as part of their advisory team along with some incredible women (such as Lindsay of Suburban Turmoil fame). Go read my confessional about being rendered temporarily insane during date night with the hubby after drinking just one martini and having an Uber Cute Pregnant Lady sighting.

Is there an “Always has to be reminded several times to send necessities with their kid” category? Or how about, “Feels lucky if she just manages to get the kids to school on time”.

  2. Mrs.M says:

Sad to admit but I peg myself as being Project Rah Rah Historian. I’m my own category. Of course by then I may be “I’ve got 4 kids in the house so take this one off my hands for 7 hours” mom. 🙂

  3. Blonde Mom says:

I’m definitely Project Management Mom. I’m also planning on volunteering a lot, but I know Miss C’s teacher through Junior Achievement and have told her I am available to help out as needed. Our school stresses parent involvement.

I’ve already been asked by Miss C’s teacher today to help assemble reading worksheets and I may be helping out with the lunch rush on Friday. 🙂

  4. Richie Ann says:

Thanks so much for filling in for me these next few months. Although I plan to post occasionally it’s nice to know that I’m not obligated because you girls have it covered. Great post today by the way!

  5. Bluegrass Mama says:

I didn’t see my type any where. Call me a Stopwatch Parent. As in “Okay, I have 6 hours and 28 minutes before the bus drops her back off here. How many blogs can I read in that time period? (I mean, how many loads of laundry can I do or how many cases can I review for work?)”

  6. Liza's Eyeview says:

Great articles. I tried leaving comments one of the articles, not sr if it went through. the other one I had to register but didn’t (so I came back here 🙂

  7. Blonde Mom says:

Liza: I understand completely about the volunteering but not necessarily having enough time. 😉
