This week’s BlogJolt spotlights Passion Meets Purpose. Kammie is a life and career coach who helps people find and pursue what they are most passionate about. Kammie’s job sounds tres cool and her blog is oozing with positive energy, so much so that you may need to wear sunglasses while reading it. And she has cute hair to boot.
Sometimes when I am checking out a blog I go to the first few posts in the archives (unfortunately mine are really lame…but I digress). I like what Kammie writes in her very first post:
Regardless of where you are, there will never be a better time to start living passionately and on purpose, than right now. There won’t be more time when the ‘kids are out of diapers’, or after the next ‘big promotion’. It won’t be easier when you don’t have ‘so much going on’, or when he/she starts ‘pulling their fair share’ in the relationship. Now is the time to take action!
How true is that? I am as guilty as anyone as sitting back and just letting life happen. Of course when you have young children sometimes it’s difficult, nay…nearly impossible, to carve out a life of your own beyond sippy cups and soccer practice.
Kammie writes about watching the recent news coverage of the terrorist plot to bomb flights from London to the U.S. and the negative track her mind started traveling. Her dad had just been in London and was due to return. She gets a sign, though, that everything will be OK…
Today finds us on a party-sunny (or partly-cloudy depending on your outlook) day. So the clouds were mixed up just right as the sun was streaming through the clouds, and I swear to you…there was an angel with a wingspan you could build an island in the sky on. The sun rays were streaming out of the bottom and there was a little space right where the heart would be where the sun was peeking out as well. It really did look like those angels that sit atop Christmas trees. A head, wings spread out, and a bell shaped bottom.
Funny how a little inspiration can go a long way. I immediately felt lighter and had the sense that everything was going to be alright. It can be easy to get stuck in a downward spiral when the scary thoughts start to supersede. But that vision above me was like a light switch and it flipped my whole mood around.
Rainbows have always been a sign from nature, a higher being, God, Buddha, you name it, for me and my husband. Rainbows…not rainbows and unicorns and puppies. I must clarify that, else we sound like complete weirdos or Lisa Frank groupies.
Now, seriously, have you ever see “signs” from a higher power that all is right in the universe?
Talk amongst yourselves. I need more caffeine if I’m going to pretend I
am alive have a life (children up at 1 and 3 a.m.).
