Why I Can’t Blog From the Office

I’ve been working from home since last June and tomorrow is my first day back in the office. I’ve gotten spoiled working at home on my laptop with my wireless high-speed setup. My computer at work is running Windows 95, I sh*t you not, and my husband just joked that I need to drive in tonight to boot it up so it’s ready in the morning at 8! The good news is that our IT guy is ordering a new computer for me. They did an overall upgrade last summer, but since I was telecommuting, he didn’t order a new PC for me. Any way, if I try to do anything too complex on my old system it might blow up (and I have a propensity to nearly set things on fire) so I’ll refrain from blogging at the office…at least until I get a new system, ha!

I will think of you as I drudge on at home in my kitchen plugged up to the bank all day!! 🙂 I have come to believe that since I got the laptop, I do MORE work for them than I did when I was in the office. I wonder why that is…..

I’m still “kickin’ it old school” at work. I only come in one day a week, so I can’t complain. I guess I will be the only one left with an old computer now!

Perhaps you can at least draft some posts with pencil and paper while you’re waiting for the dinosaur to boot up.

We have a Win 95 machine in the basement that I actually upgraded to Millenium edition, but we never use it because it freezes up when booting and it usually takes at least 4 tries. By then I REALLY want to boot it!

I too am wondering how I’ll have time to blog when I start my new job next week. I already mentioned in a post last week that I suspect my posts will be infrequent for a while. 🙁
