Yesterday Miss A came home with the homework assignment to research a U.S. president and write two sentences about them.

Yes, my kindergartener is being assigned research projects (air quotes around research) although let’s be honest, it’s the parents usually ending up doing the leg work. I mean my girl is reading but I’m not sure I want to set a 5-year-old loose on Google, especially one with a penchant for dressing like a hot lava fairy.

“Miss A, you get to pick a president of the United States and write two sentences about him. Who would you like to write about?”

She thought for about this for a few seconds and then responded with an enthusiastic, “MICHAEL JACKSON!”
