Hubby and I fall under the old and married Valentine’s gift clause. We haven’t exchanged presents the past few years. We’ve been much more practical. Maybe not quite Hank and Peggy from King of the Hill practical…“Uh. Peggy I thought we’d just skip the gifts this year seein’ as we’re savin’ for that deluxe tortilla maker with matchin’ cactus margarita glasses at WalMart.” But practical, nonetheless.
I’m not sure what was in the water Saturday, although it may have something to do with the fact that for the first time in three years we don’t have double daycare fees, but I took the girls with me to buy the hubby a gift card for a much needed one-hour massage. I was also very excited about going out to dinner with him to a cozy Italian restaurant while the girls went to a kids’ night out at my neighbor’s church. I wasn’t expecting anything else so imagine my surprise when the hubby came home with this handsome fellow, whom I have emasculated by forcing to wear hot pink and black:

Hello lover…(!!)
The girls were won over by my new boyfriend, uh phone, when I played Miley Cyrus’s 7 Things About You video for them. I was won over as soon as I saw the box. (“I will hug him and squeeze him and love him…”) kind of like the Abominable Snowman when he fell in love with Daffy Duck. (Am I dating myself here by quoting Looney Tunes from the 1960s?)
Now I am not a phone person. I don’t text, although I know that day is coming with two chatty girls, but my old flip phone had a broken screen. I could still make and take calls on it but I might as well have had it taped together with a Dora band aid.
So tell me iPhone lovers, what apps do you have?
I found this great Gizmodo article which lists several must have apps and I’ve already installed Pandora. Shannan, my blog friend in Cincinnati who blogs at Mommy Bits, has posted about her new Valentine’s iPhone and lists several great apps for moms and kids. Because we’re all about the estrogen at BlondeMomBlog, I also found a helpful Totally Her post listing the top 10 iPhone apps for girls and a post at The Frisky with apps geared toward women (I’m just pumped to know there is a Ms. Pacman app.)
