When Pigs Fly, Or Naomi Judd’s Buffalo Roam The Streets

It’s been a bizarre week in Nashville.

Country singer Naomi Judd’s buffalo got loose during the weekend flood and roamed the streets of picturesque Leipers Fork.

The beautiful Opryland Hotel as well as many downtown landmarks were flooded with muddy water from the Cumberland River, not throngs of fans or tourists.

A portable school building floated down the interstate Saturday night.

A woman in a nearby subdivision delivered a baby at home Sunday afternoon via flashlight and the aid of neighbors.

It’s very surreal to me to drive into work as if all were “normal” when there is so much heartbreaking devastation. The city of Nashville has really rallied together, though, and I am proud to call Music City my home.

I’ve written about the great flood of 2010 over at Deep South Moms.

It’s pretty much all I, and anyone else here, can think of this week.

Again, Nashvillest.com has a good comprehensive list of ways to help.

Let Me Tell You How I Really Feel About Bad Drivers

If you’re out driving in my neighborhood and blatantly run the four-way stop by my house chances are I’ll probably bad mouth your traffic violating booty all over the Internet.

I’m just like Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino, only shorter, younger, blonder, I don’t smoke, and I don’t drink beer from a cooler on my front porch, although that is not a bad idea.

Trust me, despite my nice Southern girl demeanor I can get pretty ticked off, especially if I think someone is endangering my children.

Check out my latest post at Deep South Moms,  Bad Drivers: Don’t Make Me Go All Blogger Vigilante On Your Ass.

Have you ever wanted to hunt someone down after they run a stop sign?

Be afraid irresponsible drivers, very afraid.

I like to call this Miss A’s portrait in multi-tasking.

Speaking of multi-tasking, have you ever had one of those days? A day you feel your to-do list has morphed into a thousand sticky spit balls pinging you in the head? A day you feel overwhelmed with the weight of responsibility? I did and I wrote about it over at Deep South Moms. Lucky for me, I got my priorities straight.

p.s. If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook you know that are old girl Bailey is having some serious health issues with a possible slipped or ruptured disc in her low-slung Corgi mix back. She actually showed improvement last night after being put on steroids so we are crossing our fingers, toes, and paws that she continues to be her ornery Queen Bee Alpha Bitch self. And I will never complain about her barking at our dog door again.
