G’Day Mate!

Beautiful Lorakeets giving me the stink eye

Kangaroos in Kentucky

Miss C gets up close and personal with a Kookaburra. Yes, that Kookaburra.

You haven’t lived until you’ve had a scalp massage by a hungry Lorakeet jonesin’ for some bird food.

My older daughter’s 3rd grade class recently visited with the furry critters and feathered friends from Down Under…in Kentucky. Yes, Kentucky. It’s not all bluegrass and bourbon.

Read about our favorite Kentucky Down Under experiences over at Traveling Mom!

p.s. Have you visited my review blog, Savvy Housewife, lately? I have three, yes three, fantastic giveaways posted from Noodles & CompanyBamboo Pink, a wonderful new jewelry company, and Arm & Hammer (for a $25 VISA gift card). I’m excited to be one of 20 bloggers working with Arm & Hammer in the Switch & Save Challenge, and I’ll be giving away two VISA gift cards away every month this summer!

I May Not Scrapbook

...but I remembered to do this.

Just like last year.

Current ear worm. You’re welcome!

Marathon Girl

My mom blogger card will totally be revoked if I don’t mention that my older daughter ran her first marathon a few weeks ago along with several of her 3rd grade classmates.

And since I don’t scrapbook and turned that card in many years ago along with my fancy scissors and crop party supplies, I want to be sure to record this milestone.

Just to clarify, they did run 26 miles as part of this marathon but not all at once. We signed up for the ING Kids Rock marathon in downtown Nashville as part of her PE class at school. She ran 25 miles on her own at home and at school over the course of several weeks and then she ran the final mile at LP field downtown.

It was a big deal and I am big deal proud of her!

Next year little sister Miss A wants to sign up, too.

They don’t get this athletic ambition from me, that’s for sure.

Shopping ambition and good hair ambition?

Heck yeah.
