I love unique gifts as well as the convenience of online shopping and Little Piddles has a wonderful assortment of gifts for boys, girls, moms, and even dads in a wide variety of price ranges.

You could easily spend an hour browsing Little Piddles, so I’ll highlight some of my favorite items here, ranging from the custom business card holders below (only $8!) to the monogrammed tooth fairy pillows to the musical dress-up section (Miss A is getting a musical skirt for her birthday in March).

Mabel’s Labels Giveaway: Slap One On!

Filed under: Reviews & Giveaways — Blonde Mom at 5:33 pm on Friday, January 25, 2008

Update with a winner: Tuesday Girl at A Girl and Her Life is the winner of the free pack of Mabel’s Labels!

Today’s Snowy Days Giveaways featured company is Mabel’s Labels in Canada. These are cute personalized adhesive labelssnow-days-button.jpg that are dishwasher and microwave proof. I was sent a pack of classic sticky labels in purple for Miss C and in pink for Miss A and so far I’ve used them on sports cups, lunch boxes, wallets, you name it. With a two girl household it’s sometimes tough to determine what random pink plastic object belongs to which daughter and trust me, these are the Hallmark moments that sometimes snowball into Cat Fight Central.

Mabel’s Labels are also great for all those million and one things you send to school or daycare. The lost and found moshpit is growing by leaps and bounds at Miss C’s school. I was there just today and trust me, a Hobbit could be living in the lost and found bin.

Mabel’s Labels’ product line also includes allergy alert labels, classroom labels for school teachers, bag tags, clothing labels (hey, summer camp season will be here before you know it), and a line of household labels that includes a neat freak pack. Oh, be still my beating anal-retentive heart.

I am especially partial to products that have been developed by moms and Mabel’s Labels was founded in 2002 by four moms with 11 children among them. Last fall the company received the SavvyMom Mompreneur™ of the Year Award, so you know this is an up and coming company.

Now for the fun part. I have a gift certificate up for grabs for a free pack of Mabel’s Labels in regular, princess, or ocean colors (your choice of a pack of sticky labels, skinny minis, or shoe labels.)

How to win: Go visit Mabel’s Labels. Come back here and leave a comment saying which of their wonderful products you like best. Deadline is midnight Friday, February 1. I’ll have a random drawing and update this post with the winner’s name as well as e-mail them. If you’d like two entries in the giveaway, either blog about this giveaway or post the Snowy Days Giveaways graphic on your website or blog (e-mail me for the code). Thanks and good luck!

As God is My Witness, I’ll Never Buy a White Onesie Again!

Filed under: Reviews & Giveaways — Blonde Mom at 8:04 am on Friday, January 18, 2008

Updated January 26: Bebemiqui is the winner! Congratulations and thanks to everyone who entered.

Maternity clothes were stuck in a time warp of fugliness until some brilliant fashion industry executive realized that being knocked up doesn’t mean you want to wear unflattering clothes. When I got pregnant with Miss C in 2001, Target, GAP, and Old Navy were all jumping on the hip maternity wear bandwagon. Thank God, because my super comfortable Liz Lange Target maternity black jersey pants saw me and my belly through just about every work day.

Ditto for baby clothing. Not every mom wants their little boy to wear puppy dog sunsuits or their little girl to wear pink gingham bloomers, although I have to say we are pretty partial to pink around here. Just not necessarily gingham.

Childish Clothing, favorited by celebrity moms like Heidi Klum and Mariska Hargitay, was founded by former MTV executive Skye Hoppus, wife of Blink 182 frontman Mark Hoppus, who saw a need for fashion-forward maternity and children’s clothing. They sent me this adorable onesie (size 3 to 6 months) for a giveaway…model baby not included.

How to enter: Visit Childish Clothing and check out all the cool mom and kid clothing. Come back here and leave a comment on this post saying which of their products you like best. I love this brown and teal poplin summer maternity dress (on sale) and this flattering solid jersey sleeveless summer maternity top (also on sale!)

To receive two entries in the drawing, leave a comment here telling which of their products you like best and link to this post from your blog.

I’ll select a winner at random from all qualifying comments left by midnight Friday, January 25. You don’t need a blog or website to enter, but you do need a valid e-mail address. And if you want to post the pink snowman Snowy Days Giveaways button on your sidebar, just e-mail me for the code.

Here’s the scoop on the upcoming Snowy Days Giveaways:

Giveaway four (posting January 25) is for a gift certificate for a free pack of Mabel’s Labels, cute personalized labels that are dishwasher and microwave proof.

Giveaway five (posting February 1) is for a $25 coupon good for the wonderful online baby and children’s boutique, Little Piddles. (Check out the adorable musical dress-up dresses and skirts….a certain 2-year-old is getting the Swan Lake skirt for her 3rd birthday in March.)

Giveaway six (posting February 8) is for a 50 percent coupon off a one-year online backup solution by my husband’s company, MouseCalls Computer Services, which would be ideal for all of you moms who are small business owners (or someone like me who has 9.5 million photos stored on her laptop.)

I may have a seventh giveaway for a personalized children’s book. Stay tuned!

Sandboxes to Conquer, Parks to Explore

Filed under: Reviews & Giveaways — Blonde Mom at 6:57 am on Friday, January 11, 2008

Updated January 19: Dodo O who commented, “I would use it to sit down in the park, the beach, or just out on the porch in the summertime,” is the winner! Thanks everyone and don’t forget to check out the new Friday Snowy Days Giveaways posts.

Today’s Snowy Days giveaway is for a hip, and useful, outdoor mat from GoBaby, founded by New York City designer moms Robin Shane and Gina Fabiano.

blue_mat_lg.jpg

The OutMat rolls into a yoga-mat-style bag, is washable, and has a pocket for those little items a mama needs, such as car keys, a cell phone, and sunscreen. Adjustable straps make it easy to hang on the back of a stroller. It’s a perfect size for parent and child (50″ X 50″) and weighs less than 3 pounds. If you’re headed for the beach this spring break, the terry cloth side of the OutMat can double as a towel poolside and for beach trips it’s perfect as sand shakes off of it with ease. Consider this a stylish alternative to the old quilt tossed in your car for impromptu picnics, trips to the park, or soccer practice. I love well-designed baby and children’s products with mileage and I can definitely see using the OutMat beyond the Elmo years.

GoBaby also sent me muffatees, cute handknit fingerless gloves, to try. I don’t know about you, but wrangling gloves or mittens on a toddler is enough to send me to the liquor store. They also sell beautiful nursing bracelets, which are a stylish way to stay on top of your baby’s feeding schedule (beats the heck out of the safety pin I’d attach to my nursing bra.)

To be entered in the drawing for this beautiful orange and blue OutMat (the photo above makes it look pink, but it is a pale orange), just leave a comment here telling how you would use the OutMat. For one additional entry, post and link to this giveaway on your blog (e-mail me if you’d also like the Snowy Days Giveaways pink snowman graphic.)

Entries for this drawing will be accepted until midnight CST Friday, January 18, and then I’ll draw a winner’s name from all qualifying entries. You don’t need a blog or website to enter, but you do need a valid e-mail address. Thanks and good luck!

p.s. My Spam Karma program can be a real you know what, so e-mail me if your comment does not go through.

How to [Make Your Face] Look Good Naked

Filed under: Reviews & Giveaways — Blonde Mom at 9:08 am on Friday, January 4, 2008

Updated January 12: We have a winner! Liza at Liza’s Eyeview won the drawing. Thanks to everyone who entered and be sure to visit on Fridays this month and into February for more weekly giveaways.

I’m very excited to kick off the Snowy Days Giveaways with a great new, and affordable, skincare product from RoC.

I am now completely sold on the benefits of microdermabrasion, which may or may not be a fancy skincare term for exfoliation, so much so that I must shout it from the Internet rooftops!

snow-days-button.jpg

My hair salon offers microdermabrasion treatments, but at several hundred dollars a package, they are not exactly on my list of “must dos.” We’re still getting over the year and a half of double daycare expenses. Cough. Plus I just don’t spend a lot of money on skincare or spa treatments, except for the occasional massage. I turn 39 in August and those high school days spent on my dad’s post-divorce bachelor houseboat and those post-college early 1990s weekends spent floating in the pool and listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers at my brother’s bachelor pad slash pool house are catching up with my skin.

My fairy blogmother sent me RoC Skincare’s Daily Microdermabrasion Cleansing Discs and out of all of the skincare products I have reviewed on my blog, this has given me the fastest and most noticeable results. At around $9.99 for a container, it’s also quite affordable on my diaper/daycare budget. I could immediately tell a difference in the texture of my skin after just one night. I’ve now used the entire container and my skin is considerably softer and smoother looking. Dare I say it’s as smooth as a baby’s bottom, which I have seen many of over the past five years? Even Miss C commented on how soft my face was the other day and for her to notice anything that isn’t stamped with a Disney Princess or Barbie logo these days is nothing short of a miracle.

For an entry in the drawing for a container of RoC’s new Daily Microdermabrasion Cleansing Discs, just leave a comment. To receive two entries, leave a comment on this post and link to this post from your blog. I’ll select a winner at random from all the qualifying comments left by midnight CST next Friday, January 11. You don’t need a blog or website to enter, but you do need to leave a valid e-mail address so that I can contact you, should you win.

Good luck and be sure to stop by next Friday for a chance to win a hip outdoor portable playmat in a fun retro print from Gobaby.com.

Speaking of How to Look Good Naked, is anyone planning on watching it tonight? I know my husband would rather watch High School Musical in 3-D, so I’ll probably Tivo it.

p.s. If you would link to post the cute pink snowman blog button, e-mail me and I’ll send you the code. Thanks!

Snowy Days Giveaways (Like Oprah’s Favorite Things, With Less Squealing)

Filed under: Reviews & Giveaways — Blonde Mom at 7:29 am on Friday, January 4, 2008

January is probably my least favorite month. I always go through a post-holiday letdown and I just can’t get excited about going to the gym in my blazing glory of pastiness or making New Year’s resolutions or eating black-eyed peas. The weather in Middle Tennessee this time of year is often gray, gray, upon more gray, occasionally punctuated with rain and if we’re really lucky we might get some freezing rain just to shake things up a bit.

I had a few pending product reviews and I thought I’d package them in a series of giveaways. Starting this Friday and continuing on into February I’ll be posting a product review and a related giveaway every Friday. And yes, one can dream of snowy days here in the South.

snow-days-button.jpg

Giveaway number one (posting later today, January 4) is for a container of RoC Skincare’s brand spankin’ new microdermabrasion cleansing discs. I started using these in December and I could IMMEDIATELY tell a difference in my skin. The big 4-0 is looming in 2009 and I was so needing some proactive skincare juju.

Giveaway two (posting January 11) is for a hip outdoor playmat from Gobaby.com, valued at $60. This is a stylish alternative to the random old grandma quilt or blanket you toss in the back of your car for your kids’ sports practices.

Giveaway three (posting January 18) is for the cutest anchor olive green long-sleeve baby onesie from ChildishClothing.com, favored by many celebri-moms such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Mariska Hargitay. Blog friends with new baby boys, check it out!

Giveaway four (posting January 25) is for a gift certificate for a free pack of Mabel’s Labels, cute personalized labels that are dishwasher and microwave proof. I’ve seen the lost and found mosh pit at Miss C’s school and apparently many parents could use these.

Giveaway five (posting February 1) is for a $25 coupon good for the wonderful online baby and children’s boutique, Little Piddles. Owner Jennifer is a reader of BlondeMomBlog so obviously she has great taste. Ahem.

Giveaway six (posting February 8) is for a cool personalized kids’ book from Aardvark Adventure Stories.

Bloggers will have the opportunity to get additional chances in the drawings by linking to the giveaways.

Here’s a link to a hilarious Saturday Night Live skit spoofing Oprah’s Favorite Things episode to get us in the giveaway mood. Good luck and I hope to see you on Fridays!

PeaceLoveMom Giveaway (Just Add T-Shirt for Instant Hipness)

Filed under: Reviews & Giveaways — Blonde Mom at 6:26 am on Monday, December 10, 2007

The winner of the PeaceLoveMom Grateful mom t-shirt giveaway is Andrea, who commented, “I like the Lucky Mom Rose Cozy Thermal. I am currently feeling lucky because by some small miracle I was able to land a Wii which is all my kids wanted for Christmas!! Anyway, I enjoy reading your blog. Thanks.”

Be sure to check back in January for my Go Baby giveaway. I also have giveaways planned in 2008 for Mabel’s Labels, Childish Clothing, and RoC.

I have a confession to make. We are a family of bad t-shirt hoarders. I have a drawer full of uncool charity walk and vacation t-shirts that for some reason I keep holding on to. Probably half of them should be tossed. Hubby’s t-shirt collection is also bordering on sad and my sweet father-in-law is well-known for his impressive collection of blood drive t-shirts spanning the decades. OK, only slightly exaggerating there.

grt11ch_big.jpg

If you need a serious t-shirt makeover, like me, look no further than PeaceLoveMom. They sent me this Grateful Mommy t-shirt and I must say it looks awesome with a pair of jeans and boots and will bring out your inner rock star, even if you’re chasing a child through the grocery. People will marvel, “My, she looks FABULOUS!” rather than focus on the fact that your child is about to topple a holiday store display and you are sweating bullets of Diet Coke out your forehead. Cindy Crawford recently told Oprah that these were her favorite tees, so you know they are super model fashionable.

Now, for the really fun part. PeaceLoveMom has offered readers of my blog a 10 percent discount good through December 31. Just use the code BLONDEMOMBLOG at checkout. And they’ve also offered a Grateful Mom t-shirt in the size the winner chooses, just like the one pictured, for a giveaway! (And no, that’s not me in the photo. I suffer from major white girl syndrome in December! And also? I own just one bra that makes me look at, um, perky.) Trust me, you’ll feel like an uber hip Dead Head mommy in this shirt, minus the illegal munchies.

For one entry, visit PeaceLoveMom and tell me which of their products you like best. For two entries, leave a comment on this post telling me which of their products you like best and link to my giveaway on your own blog. Comments will be open until noon Monday, December 17, and I’ll randomly draw a winner from all eligible entries. You don’t need a blog to enter, but you do need a valid e-mail address. Good luck!

Yee Haw! We Have a Winner

Filed under: Bloggy Things, Reviews & Giveaways — Blonde Mom at 10:01 am on Sunday, November 25, 2007

Little Girl, Big Hat, originally uploaded by blondemom.

The girls helped oversee the drawing for the Kodak EasyShare Printer and Renee at Froggie Mom is the winner!

I’ve been reading Renee for about two years and discovered her after cruising the blogosphere for other working moms in the South. And no, that’s not as seedy as it sounds.

Congrats Renee! I know she’ll be busy printing and scanning pictures of her three beautiful kids.

I promised my friend Mrs. Flinger that I’d help spread the word about the giveaway she is having this week on her awesome new site, MamasPod. Just channel your inner Dr. Seuss for a chance to win a $100 gift basket from Charming Sam, where I am eyeing their beautiful jewelry. Mama needs some Christmas bling!

While we’re on the topic of giveaways, I have one planned for December featuring the coolest mom t-shirt you’ll ever see from PeaceLoveMom and another one planned for January with a very hip outdoor portable play mat from GoBaby (it will put the old ratty quilt you carry to soccer practice to shame.)
