Who is Blonde Mom?

I love to review products for moms and kids. I’ve written reviews for such brands as Aveeno, Purpose, Kodak, LeapFrog, and Clorox. I have launched Savvy Housewife specifically for product reviews; e-mail me at savvyhousewife at yahoo dot com with requests and PR pitches and offers to hook me up with a new gas stove or a Dyson vacuum cleaner. Family vacations for four to exotic tropical destinations would also be welcome.

I’m a 38-year-old Southern soccer mom to Miss C (5) and Miss A (3). I grew up in the country, where monster trucks, Hank Williams Jr., and field parties were all the rage.

Some more random things about me: I’m the youngest child, I’ve never lived anywhere but the South, I’m a Leo, I’m “petite” (not even 5 ft. 2), afraid of heights and opening cans of biscuits, talkative, often goofy, and a tad anal retentive, and I met my husband my senior year of high school.

I started this blog in October 2005. I was very fortunate to be able to work from home with Miss A for most of that year. Once we got into a routine, though, I was desperate for a creative outlet, as well as a little stir crazy. My husband introduced me to the blogosphere, and I was hooked.

Blogging enables me to share my deep thoughts about poop, guilt as a working mom, and my obsession with Target and Britney Spears. I enjoy writing humorously about parenting, marriage to my computer geek/former beach bartender husband, our two mutts, and whatever else tickles my fancy, from shopping to pop culture (I heart the 80s). I struggle to get to work, or anywhere for that matter, on time, keep my house free from dog hair, and find 5 minutes for myself that don’t factor in a toilet.

I’m thrilled to be on the advisory team for DivineCaroline. I also write about being a working mom at Blissfully Domestic. I have a degree in journalism and sociology and work at a small business publishing company.

In my spare time, I like to travel with my family, search for the perfect margarita, dream about running a beach front bed and breakfast with my hubby, sleep, and read blogs.
