I’m a 39-year-old Southern soccer mom to two little girls, Miss C (7) and Miss A (4). I grew up in the boonies where monster trucks, Hank Williams Jr., and field parties were all the rage. I had pet chickens, read a lot of Nancy Drew, and couldn’t wait to get my driver’s license so I could cruise McDonald’s in “town” with my friends.

Hi, I’m 3 here and wearing my Daddy’s work boots.
I’m the baby of the family. I’ve always lived in Tennessee (except for my college years). I’m a Leo. I’m barely 5 ft. 2. I’m afraid of heights and have a freakish fear of opening cans of biscuits; I’m talkative, slightly goofy, and a tad anal retentive. I met my husband my senior year of high school in 1987.
I started this blog in October 2005. I was very fortunate to be able to work from home with Miss A for most of that year. Once we got into a routine, though, I was desperate for a creative outlet, as well as a little stir crazy. My husband introduced me to the blogosphere, and I was hooked.
Me and my girls, summer 2008.
I enjoy writing humorously about parenting, marriage to my computer geek entrepreneur/former beach bartender husband, our two mutts, and whatever else tickles my fancy, from shopping to pop culture (I heart the 80s). I struggle to get to work, or anywhere for that matter, on time, eradicate the dog hair in our house, and find 5 minutes of peace and quiet that don’t involve a toilet.
I’m thrilled to be a parenting partner at DivineCaroline. I was the Southern Mama Blogger of the Week in April at Southern Living’s Live Healthy Blog and I’m a past contributor to Deep South Moms. I was one of more than 50 mommy bloggers invited to Johnson & Johnson’s 2008 Camp Baby (see my quote in this Star-Ledger article.) I have a degree in journalism and sociology from Western Kentucky University. I work 30 hours a week for a small business publishing company (see my quote in this February 2009 Tennessean article about balancing blogging and family life.)
In my spare time I like to travel with my family, search for, and drink, the perfect margarita, dream about running a beach front bed and breakfast with my husband, sleep, and blog.
