I’m a 40-something soccer mom with two amazing daughters, Miss C (10) and Miss A (8). Although we live in the ‘burbs, I’m really a country girl at heart. I grew up where monster trucks, Hank Williams Jr., and field parties were all the rage. I named my chickens, read lots of Nancy Drew, and couldn’t wait to get my driver’s license so I could cruise “town” with my friends. Cue Small Town by John Mellencamp.

Want to know a little more about me? Kick off your shoes, have a glass of wine, and sit down. I can’t say that this will be as riveting as Shades of Grey, but here we go.
I’m a Leo, barely 5 ft. 2, and afraid of heights and opening cans of biscuits. I met my husband in high school and he puts up with my many blonde moments, hence my blog’s name. I am not glamorous or a bimbo.
How did I start blogging? I was fortunate to work from home when Miss A was a baby but once I got into a routine I was desperate for a creative outlet, not to mention a bit stir crazy between deadlines and diaper changes. I’ve always loved to write and mommy blogging was just becoming popular. My husband introduced me to the blogosphere and I was hooked…HOOKED I TELL YOU.
I write about this crazy parenting gig, our beloved mutts, and whatever else tickles my fancy, from shopping to pop culture. I struggle to find 5 minutes of peace and quiet that don’t involve sitting on, or cleaning, a toilet. I’m definitely not at a perfect mom or Martha Stewart. You’ll find more dog hair than DIY at our house!
I was invited to attend several blogger brand events in 2010 (hosted by Honda, Nissan, and Ford), as well as events for GE and Nintendo in 2011. I love chronicling our family travel experiences and have reviewed fantastic destinations such as the Westin and Sheraton in gorgeous Los Cabos, Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, and St. Augustine, Florida, my husband’s old stomping grounds.

I love travel, searching for, and drinking, the perfect margarita, bargain shopping, and watching Mad Men (the AMC show, not actual crazy men.). I am a jeans, t-shirts, and flip flops kind of mom, although I once got my glamour girl on in Beverly Hills.
