Show Me The Funny

rockstar

Once upon a time this blog was more of a humor blog. I wrote some pretty hilarious posts, if I do say so myself.

I chronicled the time I wrangled with jeggings and the jeggings nearly damn won, my littlest girl’s fascination with pole dancing (not what you think), shopping while under the influence of PMS and crabs with stripper names.

I have thought about attending the Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workshop.

I’m not sure what happened along the way, but I quit writing those hilarious posts. Well, I do know that my girls got older and middle schoolers and high schoolers aren’t too keen on you sharing funny stories about the things they say or do. I mean I’m 47 and I cringe if my mother tells an embarrassing story about me.

One of my blogging resolutions for the year is to get back to the funny. I know I have an inner funny girl and approaching 50 has plenty of hilarious moments along the way, trust me. My #oneword for the year is focus and I’m really trying to zero in on the things that make me happy and get my inner creativity flowing. I’m sure this involves a lot of wine and yoga pants.

So here’s to finding my funny in 2017 and laughing more ya’ll. And let me know if you read any of the aforementioned posts and which one is your favorite!

Yes, get on the funny. I can’t wait to read. Have you watched the Gilmore Girls? Plenty of funny there. Jamie, i think about all of my attributes and the best one is my sense of humor. I truly believe without it, we are dead. My writing goal this year is to start or resume my novel. It’s a serious subject, but I have to put humor in it. I hope to find my way. Let’s have that lunch with Susan real soon or a happy hour could even be better.

Thanks Angela! I have not watched the Gilmore Girls entirely but Caitlin and I watched the newest release…funny stuff! Agree. I’ll still write about travel and “trying” to be fashionable after 40 (and on a budget) but the humor writing is such a great creative outlet as well.

Let’s do lunch sooner rather than later!
