Things I Love Thursday

Things-I-Love-Thursday

After a rainy, chilly spring here in Middle Tennessee summer is officially here. Today’s Things I Love Thursday is devoted to all things outdoors, whether you’re poolside or perched on  your patio. Yeah!

Like most moms, I carry way too much crap and this includes when we head to the pool. Thankfully I am no longer packing sippy cups and swim diapers, but we still have tons of sunscreen, towels, and goggles. This Cinda B pool bag in the bright and tropical Bora Bora pattern is not only incredibly useful, but it’s gorgeous! It holds all of our beach towels and has six handy outer side pockets for sunscreen, shades, lip balm and more. It’s on sale and just in time for all your poolside adventures. It’s water resistant and machine washable, too, meaning you can wash it along with your beach towels and you don’t have to treat it all special (although it will make you feel special, not to mention stylish by proxy, just by carrying it!) (NOTE: Cinda B is out of these but you can find a wide assortment of Cinda B bags on Amazon.)

FitBit

Can I just admit that I am a tad OCD when it comes to competitiveness? Make something a competition and I am FULL ON. I love my FitBit and keeping up with my friends’ steps. My niece in NYC is pretty much blowing me out of the water, but I still manage to get my goal of 10,000 steps daily in most weeks (not lately as I’ve been working on several freelance projects…boo on that). I also love that it “buzzes” when I’m receiving a phone call on my iPhone, especially if I’m outside or stepped away. Pretty cool and a great way to get motivated to move it.

Padrino’s Pops

These Mexican paletas are absolultely yummy. I tried them for the first time earlier this month in both mango and watermelon flavors at a Macy’s grilling competition and they were the perfect chilly treat on a hot Nashville day! Their storefront is by Lipscomb, but they are typically set up at various festivals and events around town. Owner Lorena Mendoza Cantu is a third-generation paleta mater, following in her grandfather and father’s footsteps. Look for them and follow them on Twitter to see where they’ll be setting up near you.

I’m always game for trying new wines (have you read my blog tagline?) I am loving this Pinot Noir from Little Black Dress wines. I’m not a huge fan of Chardonnay, but it is a great choice for summer evenings, and I also enjoyed the Chard as it wasn’t too dry.

Little Party Cup Lights

How have I not lived without little festive lights on our patio? I found these at our local Dollar Tree for my daughter’s 13th birthday (being a mom to a teen is an entire blog anthem that I’m not sure I’ll ever pen) and they’re also available on Amazon. Love them! We also strung up a few in her room.

Let me know if you try any of these finds for summer!

I’m linking up over at the Fun Summer Finds weekly link up on The Fabulous Journey blog (life after 40).
