Get Turkey Day Ready: Win a Butterball Turkey Fryer from Masterbuilt

Masterbuilt Turkey Day Twitter party

Disclosure: I received no compensation for this post.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. We have a lot of traditional family recipes my mom and mother-in-law prepare, including my mom’s amazing cornbread dressing that always features fresh sage from her garden. Thanksgiving is always a time to get together and remember all that we have to be thankful for and to celebrate family and to eat pie. Let’s not forget pumpkin pie. Oh, and football. Wait, and did I mention pie?

I’m hosting a fun Twitter party today at 3 EST (that’s 2 o’clock for all my Middle Tennessee peeps.) We’ll be chatting about Turkey Day and giving away some fabulous prizes, including a turkey fryer! Masterbuilt CEO and cookbook author John McLemore (@JohnMcLemore) will be participating as well.

There’s a great Nashville connection to Masterbuilt’s Share the Goodness contest and party.  This year the Masterbuilt team traveled across the country, visiting non-profit organizations and donating products to these organizations so that they, too, could “Share the Goodness” with others. Masterbuilt visited Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee here in Nashville and Second Harvest volunteer Mike Berger is in the running for a special catered meal cooked up by none other than Masterbuit CEO McLemore himself. Click here for more info and to vote!

If you can’t make today’s festivities on Twitter, never fear. I’m giving you another chance to win a fun Turkey Day prize courtesy of Masterbuilt here on my blog.

To enter, just leave a comment on this post about your favorite traditional drool-inducing Turkey Day recipe (even better, add a link to it so we can all check it out) and you’ll be entered in a random drawing to win a Butterball Indoor Electric Turkey Fryer from Masterbuilt (a $139 value)!

For additional entries (and please leave a separate comment for each of these you do):

I’ll select a winner from all eligible comments using Random.org; giveaway closes at midnight CST Friday, November 8. The giveaway is open only to U.S. and Canada residents, ages 18+.

I like a plain ol’ turkey with butter, salt, and pepper cooked in one of those cooking bags to keep it moist.

My favorite traditional drool-inducing Turkey Day recipe is my father’s walnut stuffing recipe! It is an old family recipe.

my favorite recipe is the stuffing that my grandmother makes from scratch it is the best ever. I’m told her secret is she puts the gravy in it. thanks for the chance to win.

I have always oiled my turkey, placed orange halves on the inside, placed it into a turkey bag and baked it in the oven.
This year though I will have to definitely be more creative as our oven of eight years just went out with no hopes of repair before Thanksgiving.

For me, it’s definitely the Cornbread Dressing. I only make it at Thanksgiving and I make is as my Mom taught me. I adore it.

I love smoked turkey. We have a friend with a huge smoker that we usually get our turkey from. I’ve never had fried turkey so I would love to try it, though. When I do cook the turkey I just rub it down with butter and spices and bake.

I always stuff my bird with my moms homemade dressing recipe and butter and season the outside of it for crisp skin.

I inject mine with Creole sesoning and cover the turkey with brown mustard. I add cinnamon rolls to my stuffing.

I LOVE my mom’s Sweet Potato Casserole, which of course is in her recipe notebook and not online.

My favorite dish (besides the nice golden skin of the Turkey) is Old Fashioned stuffing. This is always one of my favorite recipes (although I do add Bell Seasoning)

We actually don’t have turkey on Thanksgiving (the horror!). My mom doesn’t like it so we switch it up with other meats. My fave is ham with brown sugar glaze. However, if I win this fryer, I’ll be enjoying some turkey this year!

  15. Karen M says:

I love to roast the turkey with onions and seasonings on the inside as well as the outside. We have always wanted to deep fry one so if I win this will be hugely exciting!

  16. LeAnn V says:

I don’t really follow a recipe. I just make my turkey stuffing the traditional way my mom taught me using the giblets for flavor.
