The girls and I enjoyed a fall birthday outing with my mom today in my hometown of Cross Plains, Tennessee. Happy Birthday mama! The Southern fall is the ideal fall, in my opinion. Where I grew up in rural Middle Tennessee we had dark fired tobacco in smoking barns, pumpkin patches, beautiful fall leaves, and family-friendly fun. High school football was big and the county fair was always a signal that fall had arrived.

p.s. Our friends own this beautiful farm just off I-65 near the Kentucky border in Cross Plains and Lana makes wonderful herbal soaps…check out her website!

I'm Jamie, a 50-year-old Nashville working mom desperately seeking a few moments of Zen and zinfandel. I love to travel, find great deals, and talk with my hands. My husband and I have two daughters, three dogs, one cat and too much laundry. Email me at blondemomblog @ gmail.com.
