A cool and refreshing blackberry mojito is the perfect poolside or patio libation to celebrate summer.
When good friends invited us to their neighborhood cookout Saturday night we wanted to bring something festive to sip on poolside. We always do the usual beer on ice in a cooler or margaritas but I remembered the amazing blackberry mojitos I’d had two years ago at my friend Tori’s house.
Hubby made our blackberry mojitos easily portable by blending the blackberries and making a simple syrup mixer. There was also some Just Dance 3 epic competition going on Saturday night so we needed to be able to make these drinks like we danced…FAST. (Ha, ha.)
Fresh, juicy blackberries for the win!
These were so yummy I thought I’d share hubby’s modified version of the original recipe. Although he hasn’t tended bar since the 90s in Ponte Vedra, Florida, he still has his mixology mojo! This mojito recipe is amazing and although I am not usually a fan of plain jane mojitos, this blackberry variation is incredible. Go easy on these, though, because they are sweet and it’s easy to overindulge on a hot day!
This recipe makes a crowd-size portion, making it perfect for a pool party or other large gathering.
