Retail therapy is just what you need when your kids have been out of school all week due to snow and icy conditions and the amusement wore off days ago.
Yesterday I ventured to my office while my inlaws babysat and at lunch I decided to finally do a little shopping with my TJ Maxx gift card from my mother-in-law. I tried on about 25 things (no, unfortunately, I am not kidding). I haven’t been shopping in a while but I want to get a few new things for Blissdom later this month and also to wear to a fun CABi fashion event at Opryland next week.
Maybe it’s just me, but being in your early 40s means you enter that interesting age when you start to question whether or not certain styles will look good on you or not and you can no longer get away with a lot of clothing from the junior department that you would have still worn in your early 30s. Translation? I may or may not have a muffin top. I’m pretty good at disguising it, though.
I wanted a couple of new trendier looking open cardigans and I found not one, but two. I nearly missed this pretty green sweater but I’m so glad I found it. It looks great on and was marked down to $29. I was checking out and noticed the original designer tags were still intact. The original price? $224! Apparently it has cashmere in it. The label is Magaschoni, which is sold at Neiman Marcus. I’m not familiar with it, but then again I’m more of a Merona label kind of girl. I’m hoping for that original price it also makes me look 10 pounds thinner, does the dishes, and folds and puts away laundry.
