They Say It’s My Blogiversary So I’m Giving Something Away

The winner of the $100 gift card to Cambria Cove is Mrs. K who commented, “Wow- I have never been on Cambria Cove’s site before and I am in love with everything now. I love the Purse Hanger by Luxe Link – Champagne Swarovski. I have been looking for a purse hanger for a few weeks now. I also would get the Lori Bonn “Love Letter” and Birthstone Necklace. Thanks for the great giveaway.” Congrats to her!

I’m going to extend the deadline for entering this giveaway until midnight Wednesday, October 28…just consider it my Halloween treat for ya’ll, OK?

Four years ago today I was working from home with Miss A, who at the time was a wee, dimpled, drooly 7-months-old, and I discovered this thing called blogging. Actually the hubby introduced me to the whole genre of mommy blogs. At the time I was a bit of an online shopaholic. Cough. As a journalism grad and someone who enjoys talking, a lot, blogging seemed like the perfect hobby for me. Hurrah!

Blogging has been a wonderful creative outlet. I may not be the most amazing photographer, or decorator, or even mom for that matter, but I can share all the craziness of motherhood here and let it all hang out (OK maybe not “all.” It’s not that kind of blog, plus quite honestly when your kids start school and everyone learns about your blog you are definitely less inclined to let anything hang out on the Internetz.)

Someone representing  Cambria Cove contacted me a couple of months ago. I’d never heard of Cambria Cove but OH MY WORD. And then I had this bright idea to actually do something in conjunction with my blogiversary.

Cambria Cove has generously donated a $100 gift certificate for YOU! This is my thank you for sticking with me over the years, even when for months and months and MONTHS when the only people reading my silly, unorganized ramblings were my mother and my husband and my mother-in-law and my best friend.

Seriously. Thanks for sticking around.

I’ve done a little holiday shopping for you and thought I’d highlight some of my favorite products from Cambria Cove.

I call this collage Betty and Don Draper prepare for the holidays (I am currently obsessed with Mad Men on AMC.)

Cambria Cove I

The swank gal about town needs her fab accessories (is that red patent laptop sleeve not gorgeous?)

Cambria Cove II

The hostess gifts with the mostess.

Cambria Cove III

Now for the juicy part. Visit Cambria Cove online and browse around. Even the Big O herself has highlighted their site. Come back and comment about what you would buy with a $100 gift certificate should you be the lucky winner. That’s all. No posting, Tweeting, or rubbing your tummy and patting your head for extra entries. Just a straight up old school contest like back in the good ole days when blogs were blogs and Twitter was something you felt after one cup of coffee too many.

I’ll select a random winner from all eligible comments left by midnight, October 28.

Disclosure, red type verbiage: Cambria Cove sent me several lovely items from their website, such as these beautiful confetti tumbler glasses, but no monetary compensation to write this post or host this giveaway. Also, gifts ordered from Cambria Cove ship arrive in a gorgeous signature black and green gift box with a gold medallion.

With a $100 gift certificate, I would buy the Charm Bracelet by Estrella in Silver, and I would pay myself for charms to represent my children. Their teacup candle in marshmallow is about the cutest thing ever! Congrats on four years of writing for the internets!

  4. Amy says:

Girl! I need more than $100 to shop over there! I “heart” the handbag hangers, there was a leather lighter for candles that was too cool. The wax sealing kit for letters, the initial cocktail napkins, the tote bags…. I could go on and on, but you’ve looked it over too. HA!
Happy blogiversary and congrats on everything you have done with it. I love you!

  5. Angel says:

I never win these things but I wanted to wish you a happy blogiversary!! If by some chance I did win I would buy two Pearl Heart Locket by Extasia that way when I move I could give one to Jujube and maybe she wouldn’t be so sad, because I would have the second!

The confetti glassware is so fun (not usually my style, but maybe that’s why it seems so fun!) and the Decantus wine aerator and stand looks very cool.
    Happy blogiversary!

  9. Well, I’m a newer reader/visitor here, but I’m so glad you are blogging and have kept on blogging. So, Happy Blogiversary! ;)

I would buy—the set of 4 oval plates, which would look GREAT in my kitchen. I keep breaking all of my old unmatched dishes anyway. So, it’s time to get some fancy new dishes.

I would also get one of the totes. I’m a sucker for totes, but these are so super-sleek and professional. Would come in handy for taking work stuff around when I have freelance job meetings.

Happy Blogiversary! If I won the gift card , I would purchase the Harlowe robe. First, it is beautiful and soft & would make me feel all spoiled up. Second, I don’t own a robe right now and my 7yr old twins have a disturbing habit of bursting in on me in my bathroom. It is amazing how many urgent issues need addressing immediately when Mommy is stark naked, wet & possibly has shampoo in her eye.
Thanks for giving us a chance to win. Sedning you virtual wine & chocolate for your blogoversayr.

  11. Becky says:

With $100, I would buy the Planet Green Reusable Bags and a chocolate assortment – yum!

I’d probably use the gift card for either some nice looking luggage or perhaps one of those serving dishes that’s so pretty.

  29. Rita says:

Congrats on the Blogiversary and thanks for the intro to Cambria Cove! So many ways to spend $100, but I’d have to go with two very fun novelties:

The tweezers by the Sarut Group, which come with a suction cup and are adorably painted… what fun to stick a set to the faux wood dashbord of my mini-van so I can grab those eyebrow strays which are ONLY visible when I check my look in the rear view mirror!

I’d also love to get the animal print slider boxes… several sets… my idea is to give them as gifts to my daughters (and as birthday gifts to their friends), and I’ll fill them with pennies and make a card that says “Pennies for the fountain, so all your wishes can come true”!

  30. Jessica says:

I’d get the Hand Lotion and Liquid Soap Set by Olivina – Olive and maybe the Purse Hanger by Luxe Link – Green & White Blossom

  31. One my dear friends sent me the painted ladies notecards for my birthday this year and I thought that box WAS the present! It’s so pretty and I’m saving it for a Christmas gift wrapping!

I think I would get the 5-file tote in black for future writing/editing opportunities and interviews; the Jasmine Tea body bar; and the Exotic Bird Silhouette notecards as a Christmas present for said dear friend!
