I was obviously very excited about testing a new swanky-fied Frigidaire dishwasher as part of their mom blogger test drive campaign, but there’s been a slight change of plans.
The dishwasher release date has been postponed until this fall so the Mom Central PR team working with Frigidaire gave me the option of selecting another fabulous swanky-fied Frigidaire appliance to review or wait this fall for the dishwasher. Although we could use a new dishwasher, as ours was in our kitchen nine years ago when we bought our house, our 12-year-old washing machine, as if on cue, started leaking horribly the day after I found out about the dishwasher review opportunity oh happy, stinky day. Not.
So…I’m getting these bad boys instead!
I’m also getting the 15-inch storage pedestals which I am very excited about as storage is a problem in our utility room. 15-inches of storage! This is organizational porn at its finest folks. I am actually looking forward to doing laundry!
I’ve chosen white, rather than the red, which I realize is boring and practical but I have a feeling that there will be nothing boring and practical about washing the girls’ Hannah Montana undies again. Although I am really turned on by the cheery red, the walls of our utility room are a cranberry color and it would really clash and then it would turn into a redecorating project that I’m not really wanting to take on.
Our new Frigidaire washer and dryer will be installed in the next few weeks and I’ll be sure to update at that time.
One of my favorite movies is Oh Brother Where Art Thou, so in honor of moms everywhere who never see the end to the mountains of dirty laundry, I give you my version of Man of Constant Sorrow.

This Frigidare campaign was one that I applied for and was fortunate enough to be asked to join. I highly recommend at least signing up on their site to get their e-mails/announcements!
You are hilarious. And congrats on the washers. I have a couple of frontloaders and they are awesome. I actually stacked mine to creat more space. I don’t know if you can do that with the Frigidaires…. or with the space that you have.
Those are pretty spiffy looking! I remember when I got my new front loaders a few years ago I was so excited about doing huge loads of laundry.
Needless to say, I’m over it now.

I don’t have kids yet, but your experiences are warming me more and more to the notion of motherhood (I’m 27 and haven’t been around little ones all that much). ANYway, I just love that washer/dryer set and can’t wait to read your review either. Unfortunately our set is only about 2 years old, but I covet those ruby-red beauties in the ads every week. Thanks for keeping your column so updated too!!
I am soooo jealous! My washer is on the brink of death but I have a feeling that no one is waiting in the wings to give me those beauties!
