I'm a 41-year-old mom to two girls ages 8 and 5 desperately seeking sanity. I'm an editor and social media coordinator in business publishing. My husband, a former beach bartender, founded MouseCalls Computer Services here in Nashville. We have two mutts, three crabs, two frogs, and too much laundry. Estrogen and wine flow freely here, so kick off your shoes and come on in!

Listen to your mama, the knockout rose bushes are completely indestructable! I have six in my front yard- they have doubled their size in a year & r blooming like crazy though I do nothing (really I mean n-o-t-h-i-n-g) to them. They make my yard look like I really try and save me from the neighborhood association nazis who believe all lawns should look like private golf courses. :)

I was planning to at least get my front beds planted with something colorful but it’s rained so much! Hopefully I’ll get something in for June.

We bought a house that came with 20 rosebushes and I am the Biggest Loser when it comes to gardening … but I have only lost 1 or 2 in the 5 years that we have been here. Not too bad!

They had better be indestructible…our house (rental) has about a dozen rose bushes. I don’t think the landlord would like me killing them off. So far so good, have a great weekend!

Hand, foot, and mouth disease does have a terrible name and is one of the worst, if not the worst, thing that any of my kids have gone through. My daughter cried, wouldn’t eat, and would’t sleep for two weeks. It was HORRIBLE. I have never heard of it when the dr. diagnosed it…what a weird name

My yard looked like that until last weekend. We’ve had so much rain that it’s been impossible. By the time it dried up enough to run the mower, etc a jungle had developed.

I just love how spring encourages a lot of people to go out and garden. But I still rely on my husband to do it still LOL. I really hope everyone is okay already. Wish you all the best.

It rained even MORE this weekend but thankfully I did battle with the weeds. My mother swears I can do no harm to the Knockout rose bush. We shall see! And my father-in-law came out today, God bless him, and helped revive the weedeater. My husband thinks he had bad gas init, which is just asking for a bad joke….heh.

Miss A is now on the mend but she had a fever off and on for four days!

That is a great photo and congrats to your mum on a wonderful yard. Good luck on your rose bush and watch the thorns.
