...in their clothes in the Bicentennial Mall fountains.

My husband sent me this picture from his Blackberry last Thursday while I was driving back from Memphis with my fabulous sidekick Amy from Milkbreath and Margaritas. Of course Miss A would choose to shun her beloved black boots a la punk rocker girl look for once and wear black patent dress shoes with blinged out buckles and “Sleeping Booty” socks for an impromptu trip downtown with Daddy. Special occasions call for fancy footwear.
At some point this week I’ll write more about our Memphis blog trip to tour the very impressive FedEx World Headquarters. In the mean time, here’s a sneak preview.
Ducks! Firefighters! The insanely talented rockabilly band from Walk the Line! Beale Street! The guys in the audience who wouldn’t stop chanting, “Take the shot!” (Goldschlager to be precise, but none for us. Amy and I and our host from FedEx were highly caffeinated.) The midnight tour of the FedEx Super Hub!
There was, thank you Jesus, a Starbucks adjacent to The Peabody. Or maybe I should thank Elvis.
No wonder I’m so tired.
I'm just another working mom seeking a few moments of Zen and zinfandel between soccer practice and supper. My former beach bartender husband founded

I hope you could take pictures there (FedEx), stuff like that fascinates me.
Yes, Beale in all its glory…how funny-I often forget what it is like and yet, I’m right here!
Sounds like the tour will be interesting..can’t wait to read it. You’re girls, however, look like they had a good time ‘all their own!’

Your kids are having fun and glad to see their smile on their face. Being a mom is a very rewarding job.
There is a “jumping” water spout at the zoo Evan found today. I had to wring his shirt out!!
How did we miss the Starbucks last year?
That is precious!!
I’m so envious that you and Amy get to hang out
So fun. Makes you wonder why we moms just can’t kick back and let moments like this happen. If I’d had been there, my eye would have started twitching at the prospect of ruined fancy shoes and insisted that they at least take them off before getting soaked. I guess that’s why god invented Dads.
They must be having so much fun in that picture! I loved running in fountains when I was a kid =) What wonderful almost-summer memories!
