Caitlin saw Dancing With the Stars for the first time Monday. Clearly a spark was ignited deep down within her 4-year-old soul. So far I’ve sheltered her from watching much dirty dancin’ on TV. Lawrence Welk on Saturday night just doesn’t do much for her and when mama shakes her booty to Justin Timberlake while emptying the dishwasher, she’s not exactly witnessing dance in its most artistic form.
Our favorite dancers this week were Apolo Anton Ohno and Julianne Hough, who had the top score for with perfect 10s across the board. After watching them samba like two cats in heat, Caitlin’s been shimmying throughout the house and singing, “I like to mole it, mole it!” When I correct her and say, “it’s move it, move it!” she just gives me that “whatever, mom” look. So, mole it, it is. Or maybe she’s singing “I like the mullet, mullet?”
Here’s some of my favorite commentary from Caitlin as she watched Dancing With the Stars:
She’s BEAUTIFUL!
Are they married?
You have to be married to dance like that?
and because she is definitely mama’s girl,
I love those sparkly shoes!
As you can see, she’s ready for Broadway.

I'm just another working mom seeking a few moments of Zen and zinfandel between soccer practice and supper. My former beach bartender husband founded

you ahve to be married to dance like that? HAHAAH! AWESOME!
The words out of a 4-year olds mouth…How funny and so grown up….married to dance like that, hehe…Very cute!
That is way too adorable.
Megs loves DWTS too!
Oh. My. Gosh.
She is just the most adorable thing evah!
so precious!! it’s all about the shoes!! (at least she isn’t a fan of heather mills!!)
That’s great. Y’all should watch it together every week and she could ‘mole it, mole it’ to her heart’s content!
The goddaughter loves ANYTHING where there is dancing. When she saw Annie (her first stage play), she was mesmerized that KIDS dance like that too. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Cats comes back to life and back to Nashville.
Do you think that outfit comes in a size 12?
She is adorable. I actually have video of my daughter dancing to Little Mermaid music. Enjoy it now – they grow up so fast!
I know you all are dying to know how you, too, can replicate this look.
Purple shoes from the Dollar Tree.
Pink tutu from Company Kids (size 2…clearly too small but she doesn’t care.)
Cinderella costume top from TJ Maxx clearance.
that’s precious precious PRECIOUS
! And my fave is “do you have to married ot dance like that? HAHAHA!
I would have said “yes” when she asked if you had to be married. Let the girl dance!
Aw! She is adorable!
What a little princess! I confess, I am one of the few people who has never watched that show. Oh, and Jamie, is Lawrence Welk still on tv? Good God…I used to be forced to watch that when I was little…I am sweating just thinking about it LOL
Lawrence Welk is still on PBS. It’s not that bad except the interviews about the good ‘ol days they’ve added are pretty boring.
[...] She likes to mole it, mole it [...]
Too cute—and I agree that yes, you have to be married to dance like that. Unless you’re paid big bucks to do it on TV.
I used to watch Lawrence Welk all the time, but have never seen Dancing With the Stars.
So, have you got her signed up for dance classes yet?
What a cutie pie. Love it – sparkly shoes from dollar tree….do they have my size?
That is SO CUTE.
Julia is a big Survivor fan—she loves to stay up and watch it with us. We usually tell her it’s over halfway through so she’ll go to bed, LOL.
[...] This blog is a fun outlet for me. At work I nitpick, edit, write, and proofread documents intended for very starched shirt, button up type publications, so this girl just wants to have fun on her blog. I do not strive to address heady political or cultural debates. Nay, verily, I pretty much stick to safe topics such as poop, boobs, and funny things my girls do and say. So imagine my surprise earlier this week when I was nominated twice in one day for a Thinking Blogger Award! One from the lovely Liz at This Full House who is the busiest blogger I know (perhaps even busier than Busy Mom!) and who also has a heck of a lot of laundry and another one from the lovely Mrs. Schmitty, who just celebrated her birthday. [...]
We have to make a vacation so the girls can meet.Hannah and Caitlin could dance their tooties off. We can sit back and drink and the boys can talk geek computer work. Does that sound like fun?
Caitlin is funny
I just posted some pictures on my blog of the girls.
Are you doing well?
