I'm just another working mom seeking a few moments of Zen and zinfandel between soccer practice and supper. My former beach bartender husband founded MouseCalls Computer Services here in Nashville. I believe laughter is the best medicine, especially when regularly administered with a good glass of wine, or three. Email me at blondemomblog@gmail.com

Dear Youngest Child:

I realize that you are about to turn the ripe old age of 21 months in less than two weeks, but you really need to take a nap.

Let me rephrase that. I need you to take a nap. Tossing every single item out of your crib and screaming at the top of your lungs and refusing to nap is a good tactic. But I am older and I control the Tivo.

Love, Mommy

    Hah! I love it!

I remember those days fondly – those nap days, I mean.

Now that my boys are older, though, I can leave my #1 in charge and nap even though they don’t. Those days are good too.

I feel your pain. Gianna now only naps if she falls asleep in the car. It’s been that way ever since she learned how to climb out of her crib and we got the girls bunk beds. Glad your little took a nap for you today!

My littlest one was one of those “will always go to sleep in the car” babies. I recall as he was getting a little older, you would have to drive just a little further for him to nod off. When it got to the point that I actually had to drive to the Canadian border we gave up on that one.

That’s it! Hit her where it hurts!

Seriously, I have always rocked my kids to sleep at naptime just to ensure that they will indeed sleep. Life is so miserable with a cranky toddler!

I hate no-nap days. So I feel your pain.
