Well Bless Her Heart

Look at what R*Belle did.

Crickets chirping. Laptops whirring. Blenders mixing margaritas. Oh wait, I’m daydreaming yet again.

She bought a text ad on my sidebar! Yes, you see I am too darn stubborn to admit that perhaps I’m not in the Adbrite league and so I refuse to taken down my text ad pitch. It’s a bargain people. Really.

I won’t get into the blog ad debate here because others are doing that so well. Obviously I am not “against” ads on blogs (see the ClubMom sellout ad at the bottom of my blog) although personally if ads begin to take over a blog and you notice the ads more than the writing then I think it starts crossing the line over into MySpace obnoxiousness. I don’t like popups. I don’t like music or animation or anything that reminds me of Dollywood on crack on a blog. When I visit a blog I visit it to read and not necessarily shop or be reminded immediately that the volume is cranked up on my computer.

So do you have ads on your blog? And, if not, do you run shrieking into the blogosphere when you see ads? Do you even notice blog ads? And speaking of noticing ads, go click on R*belle’s ad over there, will you? Thanks. You’re a peach.

Caitlin had her third soccer game Saturday and it was the perfect overcast fall dat. We do the weekly soccer practices. We’ve done the obligatory soccer team photos and I am chomping at the bit to see the proofs even though I apparently did not get the internal soccer mom memo to make sure she wore a matching grosgrain ribbon. I’m afraid I will never be the type of mom to remember the cute matching hairbow. Any way, we have an industrial size case of bottled water loaded in the back of my SUV for practice and game days. Oh dear Lord…we are morphing into the proverbial suburban soccer family. I just need one of those cheesie “Soccer…It’s a KICK!” bumper stickers to seal my fate. (Read on …)
