It’s Saturday, the sun is shining, and it’s finally cool enough here in Nashville that I felt inspired to make a big pot of homemade vegetable soup yesterday.

In the good deeds category, ParentHacks had a great tip about how to clean your closets and package up your unwanted toys/stuffed animals for children in Iraq who would be thrilled to have them. It is a great cause and such a small effort that would make a child’s day. So blog for the greater good here people and spread the word.

Here’s a link to Super Suppers which I read about a few weeks ago on Crouching Mommy, Hidden Laundry (which, I think is one of my all-time favorite blog names). Super Suppers seems a bit pricey, but considering it’s quite an effort for me to make home-cooked meals, it also seems mighty tempting to let someone else do all the work, well almost all the work. They have ready made entrées that you put together and then take home to heat up or freeze.

I clipped an ad in a local parenting magazine last week for free weekend kids’ movies this fall at select Carmike Cinemas. With the first two flicks being the proverbial little girl chick flicks (Holly Hobbie and Strawberry Shortake) I’m thinking this is the perfect rainy Sunday afternoon outing for Caitlin.

Speaking of going to the movies, Jen at Spaghetti Harvest has a hilarious post about running into the dreaded proverbial Hot Mom at the movie theatre when she herself was smelling of Eu Du Poop. Oh, I hear ya sister.
