Got Milk?

Filed under: My Girls — Blonde Mom at 11:49 am on Wednesday, July 19, 2006

The hubby picked the girls up from daycare yesterday and Amelia immediately popped her thumb in her mouth as is her custom when she is tired.

“Awww Caitlin, Amelia’s sleepy. She’s sucking her thumb,” he said.

“Daddy, she’s not sleepy. She’s drinking milk!” said Caitlin, matter of factly.

Now I wonder if I sucked my thumb if I would get a taste of margarita?

p.s. Does anyone remember this book? I had it when I was a kid and loved it.

Of course I remember it!

That one, along with the other Seuss classics, and A Fly Went By, Are You My Mother? and The Giant Jam Sandwich molded me into what I am today.

Which probably means you ought not let your kids read ANY of them!

That is currently one of Maddie’s favorites. “Drum book, Mommy! Thumb!”

And my thumb? Lemon drop all the way!

In the summer, I use my right thumb - daiquiri. Yum!

In the winter, I use my left thumb - Bailey’s Irish Cream. Mmmmmmm!

We’ve read, and drummed, that book every day for the past five months.

I begin to rhyme in my posts. “Many more houses many more fears many more loans many more beers”

or something like that.

Get better, beyotch!

It was my favorite childhood book, and is now one of my daughter’s favorites as well. We read it every day, in a sing-songy way and she bounces to the beat of it. Love it!

I’m with you on the margarita thumb by the way.
