St. Patrick’s Day Weekend 1998

Originally uploaded by jamiemom.

We’re getting together with my college buddies next weekend and I thought I’d post this fun photo of all of us eight years ago in Savannah, Georgia. That’s me and the hubby on the left. We were visiting my friend Noelle, who now lives in South Carolina. Kaye is missing, but she is behind the camera. This was such a great trip. We went to Tybee Island and ate huge platters of seafood. Kaye and I also participated in the “shoot the chair” weirdness at a local bar. It’s hard to believe we’ve been friends since the late 80’s in college. We were all journalism nerds together and now we’re all playing adults in this thing called life.

Updated to add: We have been having the most hilarious e-mail exchanges getting ready for next weekend. There has been much talk of packing fiber tablets, Pepto Bismol, Alka Seltzer, Bugles and Diet Sugar Free Mr. Pibb, but mostly talk of antacids because we’re all getting so old. Oh and we’re taking the chilluns, too, so there will be four children under the age of 6 hanging out with us. God help us.

I’d laugh, but am afraid my dental work won’t hold up….**snicker**….sounds like a lot of fun (even with the chilluns) and I’m looking forward to some more pics!

I don’t know if it will be a blast but with all those fiber tablets someone will blast if you know what I mean. See ya on Friday!

Old? Late 80s college days?

Does not compute.

At least not in my calculator!

Hey! Noelle told me about your blog. I look forward to reading it! The trip sounds like lots ‘o fun! Carl still reminisces about the people at Tybee Island who managed to smoke while shoveling seafood into their mouths. Why am I not surprised that with this particular crowd the conversation turns to all things intestinal? Have fun!

You’re a cutey-patutey in a very heterosexual, non-stalker-like way. :) I miss crazy St. Patty’s days, I used to have big old parties with green beer and everything! This year I settled for wiping green boogers! I hope you have a great time with your buddies!

[...] We’re back from our trip visiting my college buddies a day early. The baby and I ended up going alone because Caitlin (who is NEVER sick) had a 103.8 degree fever Thursday. I took her to the doctor yesterday morning and it is viral so her pediatrician did not prescribe anything. The hubby did a great job of taking care of her yesterday while Amelia and I were out of town and although she’s still not 100 percent, her fever is nearly gone. I had a great time with my friends and it made me realize just how long it had been since we have all gotten together. And doesn’t it always seem like someone gets sick when you make plans? [...]
